They're not being retired; per the source, they're being sent to MTA Bus for revenue service.

Everytime they move buses between Transit and MTA Bus, they have to switch out the fareboxes.

Everyone, including myself, thought they were being retired, but it appears that is not the case.

Copy. I just read your last statement @GojiMet86 regarding the Eastchester move possibly for 2210-2228. Eastchester is gonna fix those buses nice and have them running for another 2 years at most.

1572 is definitely in the system plus I saw it entering the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel on deadhead earlier today.

Right, that’s why i said

1572 and 74 at the time

I assume they were put into the system later in the day since 545 was a bit early in the day. I just checked while making this post and both are in.

So 1385-1387 is official at Eastchester?

That was a typo, god knows what was i was thinking when i typed that. I’m going to take this as a lesson to not post right before going to bed, lol

Any idea as to when the XDE40s and new XD40s will start arriving? I'm not sure what's taking the XDE40s so long to enter service when we had been testing them since 2018.

Well for the xde40 it was supposed to be march/april but that’s long since passed. Probably soon since both pilots recently went back.

The 2018 order was to evaluate which hybrid system to use. I don’t think those served as pilot buses for this order specifically though, which is what 9510 and 9560 have done since late 2020.

XD40 pilot should be soon?

-never mind this is what i get for reading page 56 and hittingreply with realizing there is a page 57-

2222: CAS —> ECH scrap

it is parked in the scrap lot by 2898 and 2850. Unsure what the fate of Castleton’s other CTs is.

2009 Orion VII NG hybrid #4424 is OOS at Eastchester depot. Awaiting farther information as to the status of that bus. Also, it appears that another XN40 is also out of service from West Farms (unit # unknown at this time) after colliding with a motorcycle and then catching fire in the front of the bus. Again, awaiting farther details.

Also, is #808 retired or what?

808 is retired. Fire last year in Brooklyn.

Just got intel that 2213, 2216 are at ECH waiting to be repaired and prepped for service. Those keeping score. ECH has now acquired 2213, 2216-2222, 2225-2228

Left at CAS: 2210-2212, 2214-2215, 2223-2224

That unit was #673. It last tracked on the Bx11 and went OOS at the same date, time, and location as the incident. Also, videos taken at the scene (on the Citizen app) showed the number of the bus and it appeared to be #673.

How bad was the damage? That's the 3rd XN40 to be involved in some sort of fire incident after #808 from Brooklyn and #1930 from Nassau.

2217,2220,2225,2228 at least are still at Castleton, they ran during the evening rush today as well. 2218 also is still at Castleton, though it didn’t run this evening. That’s not to say they won’t go to Eastchester soon, though.

Unsure where 2219,2221,2227 have been today, it’s possible those were transferred at some point today but the change has not been reflected yet if that is the case.

2213,2216 are physically at Eastchester but are still assigned to Castleton.

2222 and 2226 are the only buses actually assigned to Eastchester right now.

as of 5/10 10:22p

9563 is built. Brand new XDE40... Uncertain to it's destination.. However, if it's destination East New York, it would join 9510, and 9560.

A couple of takeaways

1) A bit surprised that Kingsbridge is still keeping their set of NG's. Would of thought some of those buses would transfer to Queens or Brooklyn (Fresh Pond).

2) The same goes for Manhattanville and TU. Some of those 3800's at least need to be out for MTA bus, and maybe the 3900's back to MQ

3) MQ is slowly getting rid of O7's.

4) I wonder what the Brooklyn Division is gonna look like in the near future. I drove by EN the other day and the artic spacing is almost complete.

So I guess add 2016 New Flyer XN40 CNG #673 to the scrap line.

The Brooklyn division come 2022-23 will probably look like this:

NYCT local:

-New Flyer XD40s: 2011, 2014-15, 2018-19, 2021-22

- New Flyer XDE40s: 2018, 2020-21

- New Flyer XN40 CNGs: 2017

- New Flyer XN60 CNGs: 2018

- New Flyer XD60s: 2017, 2019

- New Flyer XE40s? : 2022-23

-New Flyer C40LF CNGs: 2011-13

-Orion VII NG hybrids : 2009-2010 (being phased out)

NYCT Express:

Prevost X3-45s: 2014-16?

MTA bus (Spring Creek depot) local:

New Flyer C40LF CNGs: 2012-13

MCI D4500CTs: 2008-2009 (being phased out?)

Prevost X3-45s: 2011-12?, 2021.

I heard that #9510 and #9560 had both gone back to New Flyer. If that's the case, then expect these buses to start rolling into the fleet literally any day now.

Also, 2007 D4500CLs #4300 and #4325 both got their fareboxes removed. Both retired from Charleston depot.

1575, 1578 now at Meredith (Delivered).

Now Meredith now has 1557-1575, 1578.
1576, 1577, 1579 in Secaucus.

2015-16 LFS #8220 caught fire recently and is currently out of service from the SI division.

Is #1020 written off or is it going to be rebuilt?

Could it be they save the read end of 1020 and do something similar like 5656 and 5658 before? Because the back can be fused since the front of 1020 is messed up

Probably. Or maybe New Flyer to build a new front.

No the plans have changed. Those 2008 CTs are going to MTA bus now.

got some intel on this... Apparently, those CT's are hitting the scrap yard.. OMNY readers have been removed on the buses..

If the readers were on the buses than the CT's would possibly begin service soon. But as of (Thursday) these buses haven't seen service.
