Actually in terms of NYCTA, the oldest buses are the remainder of the 2007 Orion 7.501 OG hybrids #6790-6905 (around 20 units left) and 2007 MCI D4500CLs #4300-4329 (around 10-12 left).

How many more Orion OGs left in the 3000s range (or MTA Bus Company)?

2020-2021 Nova LFS hybrid pilot bus #9620 is back on MTA property. It is assigned to 100th Depot (Tusk). 2022 Nova LFS #8762, delivered NEW to Jamaica Depot.

The LFS hybrid order should be wrapping up withing the next month or so, so the #9900s should be on the way shortly.

There are delays currently on this order. I would stop short of saying the order will wrap up within the next month or so. At least for the hybrid portion. There’s no timetable to when nova will have to deliver at least 25 buses a month to meet the deadline by the end of 2022

What's with the delay?

So what's the issue now? Is there a delivery driver shortage or something? I find it highly peculiar that there are close to 100 MTA LFS's (both Hybrid and Clean Diesel) sitting up at the plant in upstate yet they can't meet the demand for some reason? Is the upcoming closure of Prevost's production (whose own MTA order is also delayed) have anything to do with it?

This new command center is a joke...

2011-2012 Orion 7.501 EPA10 3G Clean Diesels #7058 and #7073 MIGHT be back in service as they were apparently both spotted on Transsee with broking trackers.

Also, at this time, Queens Village Depot has 8 2007 Orion 7.501 OG hybrids remaining: #6854, #6859, #6864, #6870, #6878, #6887, #6891, and #6896. The #6900s are all gone now sadly and all other units are now retired.

MTA bus Company has around 195 Orion 7 OG hybrid buses left in service and while they are still somewhat common on the streets of Queens, I predict that they will be below 100 units strong come August/September as Brooklyn is now receive the brand new 2022 New Flyer XD40s and Queens, the 2022 Nova LFS's that would likely shift another 100 or so Orion 7.501 NG hybrids to Bus Company (assuming no farther delays become apparent). Get your last rides and videos now as we are fast approaching an end of an era and another fleet extinction.
