I think they might be done? They’re no longer listed as pending preservation.

Typical NYTM not giving a crap about the bus fleet and only babying their subways..

So they refused to save atleast one more Orion V?!?! I also noticed that there are no Orion VII OGs in the museum fleet yet either.

Hmm, been a while since those 2010 LFSAs moved.

Yeh and they are staying in The Bronx Division.  Those LFSA's need to retire at this point.

All this money the TA is getting, no talk of artic replacement.

There's no more #1200s in Manhattan? As for retiring these, they are still too young. After 2022, it's fair game.

No more 1200's... MCH sent those out 2 years ago when they picked up the XD60's for selectbusservice+

I believe MCH did overhaul them before sending them to Gun Hill and Kingsbridge respectively.

The overhauls were done at Grand Ave & Zerega Ave Maintenance facilities.

Those buses might be retired by 2023-24 along with some of the 2011-13 LFSAs #5770-5986 and #5252-5363.

They got 93001 but they failed to get one as a representative for transit configured orion 5s. They were going to get one of the two 1996 Orions r/n into the 1300 series, but both were scrapped, they then tried to get 6000 but there was too much frame rot so that scrapped that, 6326 *appears* to be scrapped as well.

the 1993 orion used at zerega was junked too.

There are also 174,180 but being roadeo equipment buses, I’m not sure if that counts as preservation (considering all past roadeo equipment buses have been junked).

1385, 1386, 1387, 1388, 1577 all at Secaucus heading to E'chester and Meredith respectively.

9710, 9712 present at Manhattanville.

7851, 9563 both built and pending delivery

The 97xx's are already being built? Is the MTA not late with their deliveries for the first time ever? I'm assuming 7851/9653 are at NES?

That's sad. Scrapping at ECH, I'm assuming? Also, any updates on the fate of the C40LF at ECH?

Your late...

9701, 9702, 9710, 9713, 9717, 9718, 9719 are all at Manhattanville.

9703 and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head are at Secaucus.

As for 7851, 9562, 9563. Those buses should be here any week now- heading to NES for inspection.  If projections are correct 7851 could either be at Fresh Pond or Ulmer Park first and 9562, 9563 could be Manhattan bound, either MQ or MCH first.. ENY & Grand will receive order last.

East New York is also slated to get some of those new XD40s, so they should be good in the sort term.

So, any word on when the first R211 test train will get here? Also, what's the status of the remaining R32s? Are they retired for good or are they in storage in case of emergencies?

I think the R211s gonna test later this year and the R32s are stored I believe. Not 100% sure since I’m not good with the NYCT

It's all good. I wasn't too sure about the R32s either. I know the R42s are gone for sure though, as the R179s took care of those (which I happened to ride on recently on the J train, nice cars, although some are already getting dirty, not unlike WMATA's 7000 series cars).

CHARLESTON:  4311, 4318

JFK: 3515.

BUS MOVE:

Why the hell are they retiring 2009 Orion VII Next Generation hybrids already?!? Late 2009 models at that too, those units came around September of that year, which makes them even YOUNGER than the 1700s!!

I don't ask questions. I only observe.. the set of 4365-4391 have never left kingsbridge. In the last 2 years kingsbridge sent out 4330-4364 to Manhattanville and Flatbush respectively along with 4392-4395 to Queens Village, 4396-4405, 4413, 4416, and 4455 to Manhattanville and East New York.  4337, 4338, 4341, 4342 are at Gun Hill.

Based on the # of Novas and New Flyers on order, some 2009s were bound to be retired. If one of those breaks down and it is uneconomical to pay for the repair, then it’s simpler to just retire the bus instead of spending a large amount of $ repairing it.

Yeah, but if we go back in time to the year 2011, We had Novabus RTS -06's from 1996-1999 that were started to breakdown and become costly to repair, but the MTA fixed them anyway. Same with the 1999 Orion Vs after hurricane Sandy in 2012, so why can't the do the same with these still fairly modern Orion VII NG buses? Atleast with NICE, we can say that being CNG powered kinda makes that a handicap.
