According to NYCTF, 6275,80-84 at least got the wrap so far. I always like to take info from the repaints thread with a bit of skepticism since sometimes folks there make false reports just to build clout but that's probably the best answer out there for now.

Those did get wrapped. 6279 was in the booth last night getting prepped for the LGA Link wrap as well.

For anyone who may be using the depot rosters on cptdb, the depot pages have been updated but not the individual fleet pages. I can't guarantee it's 100% because with nearly 6,000 buses, it;'s inevitable I've overlooked a bus or two, but it should be by-and-large fairly accurate. As far as individual fleet pages go, some of those are many months out of date and they take forever to fix, and I don't have the patience to do those and the depot pages so I'm leaving them untouched for now. If anyone wants to go ahead and fix them, please go right ahead. When I was putting together the depot roster, I kept a running change-log. I'm pretty sure I wrote down everything, so here it is as a little head start if anyone wants to take the project on. All the paint schemes and delivery statuses should be up to date. All 2005 Orion retirements are noted.

I realize it's been a while since i did a nyc news update. Not much has happened, though.

  1. The MTA is expanding its small but recently launched nighttime bus network to shadow the shuttered subway routes. Bx99, operated by the West Farms garage, will run from Woodlawn to West Village (of all places...). Map here. It is essentially a replacement for the 4 and D trains in Manh, Bronx. The M99, operated by the Mike Quill garage will run from the Circle Line turnaround right outside the garage to the two most beautiful neighborhoods in NY, East New York/Brownsville... Map here. It replaces the A/C and 3 trains.
  2. The MTA's newest fleet of buses, the 2020 Prevost X3-45s, have hit the streets. So far, only one has entered service; 0023 (delivered as 1300). It is assigned to Yonkers Depot currently (Meaning it can run on the BxM1,2,3,4,11,18) and will be there for the next couple weeks. It's unclear to me if this is meant to be a demo (That will not be returned) or if it's here to stay and that it only received the two digit fleet # because it is the pilot bus for the order (For those not familiar with the MTA, note that two-digit fleet numbers are assigned to demo buses, and that the first bus to enter service from every order is a pilot bus that is sent back and (usually) returned with some necessary modifications made). Kind of ironic that the last bus to bear 0023 was that 2018 MCI D45 CRT LE demo, which of course lost to Prevost... I've attached a photo from yesterday below.
or............ not. It seems the forum software doesn't want to upload it. Oh well

According to NYCTFs, Jackie Gleason depot just lost an XN40 (2017 New Flyer XN40 CNG #808) due to a major engine fire while in service. Take this with a grain of salt for now as I have yet to see proof of this happening. Also Spring Creek depot may have lost a bus as, 2012 New Flyer C40LF CNG #587 was working on the B103 Limited when it was struck by a stolen car and crashed. 20+ people injured in the wreck and the bus itself looks heavily damaged. If retired, this will be the first "second generation" C40LF to be scrapped (that I'm aware of, I know a #6xx C40LF was in an accident last year from College Point, but it is assumed that this unit returned to service).

As for the #808, it would be the first XN40 to be written off by the MTA (or NICE for that matter) and the 3rd Xcelsior overall to be retired after 2013 XD60 #4799 and 2015 XD40 #7430, who were also involved in a fire and bad accident respectively.

This VIN returns to a 2019 XD40 - you may have made a mistake! - the correct vin is:

4RKYL82L4L9777581

Huh this is weird. Yeah the VIN I posted above can't possibly be a Nova b/c of the WMI. The odd model year stood out to me but the WMI didn't for some reason, idk. I just went back to that vid that trespassing kid made to see if i mistyped the plate in the website but it still returns as a NFI, interestingly enough the serial right after mTA 7593..

When I put the plate in (BB3664) on Vehicle History, I got 4RKYL82L4L9777581. Usually they do give accurate VINs.

on an entirely separate note, Yesterday I rode the Columbia arbor shuttle but for some reason the bus running on it was a Ford transit van! Not sure why!!

Faxvin and autocheck are giving the xcelsior one. They must have transferred the plate between buses (but from what agency’s bus...).

That is weird. Any insight on what depot it is going to?

Yeah I'm not sure what to make of it. Vehicle history and the vIN you provided above is the obviously the correct one, but  the proximity of the faxvin VIN to the  MTA XD40s, the fact that the plate is probably being reused, and the fact that there is only one other city running XD40s in the state make this odd... And based on the model year of the NFI VIN, Rochester had already switched over to Novas anyway. I could check my roster from them later but I doubt it would be on there..

Maybe this should be added to the wiki?

anyhow, not saying where it is for now because i don't want the foamers and speds going there.

didn’t see that, guess its not a secret anymore ??

Lol usually just from the pic it’s easy to tell anyway. For what it’s worth, I doubt any enthusiast is stupid enough to waltz into an MTA facility/garage but i suppose a lot is possible with some of the clowns in ny..

depot assignments

I haven’t heard/reached out about it so unless someone of NYCTF spilled the beans, no.

just wait and see. I get that it’s more fun to know what’s going where, but all will be reveAled by the TA eventually. Just as well with nearly all of the recent orders, things changed from the original plans

These buses are going to the depots that have the 2005, 2006, and 2007 Orion 7.501 OG hybrids that need replacing. NYCT only of course. Also speaking of OGs, just got word that #6821 from ENY is done. The bus caught fire apparently, like wtf?!?!

2843 got dented on the rear left side.

2843? Which route? I haven't seen 2843 in service in a long time.

Speaking of flipdots, I rode 2848 and 2859 recently, both seemed to be in tip-top shape. 2209 is still OOS, but reportedly they are fixing it. Since the first order of Prevosts is 29 buses, and there are 32 (33?) flipdots, my bet is the three that will stay will be 2209, either 2848, 2858, or 2859 (all three of these run rather frequently), and one 29xx (possibly 2905 or 2907, those two run the most)
