Remember that they were going to repower the MTA bus Company Orion 7s (both OG and NG) to diesels as well. Only #3563 was ever converted. BTW, #3753 and #3773 to Spring Creek depot. Are they short on C40LFs again? Also about 102 2004 Orion VII OG hybrids remain from the former 125 units. On 5/3/2019 at 7:15 PM, Len90 said: I was wrong in my prior post. The S79 limited seems to be exclusive yet on the Orion’s. None of the new nova are in select markings. 8574 and 8590 photographed on the road today leaving Yukon with a bunch more seen lined up inside the depot from the street. 8574 running the S59 and 8590 was showing not in service. Len90
S79 has been seeing a lot of mixing over the past three weeks. It started with some of the 2015-2016 Nova's popping up and just this week there were a few of the newest Nova buses running the route. None of the new buses I have seen circulating around SI have the SBS wrap. I'm sure there will be some coming soon. The Orion VII is getting tougher to find on any of the local routes out of Yukon. Any word on what will happen with the SBS Orion 7s? They look pretty beat up

The 2009-2010 Orion VII Next Generation hybrids as a whole are leaving SI to go to Manhattan depots to replace the 2004 Orion VII OG hybrids. The only Orion VIIs that will remain on the Island (for now) will be the EPA10 2011-2012 Orion VII 3G clean diesels : #7000-7089.

GojiMet86
On May 6th, 2019, the MTA retired its RTS fleet. The last unit to run in revenue service, 5241, ran on the M55 route from Bryant Park to Lower Manhattan. Afterwards, 5241 joined 5249 and New Flyer XE40 0013 for one last public viewing. Chris.A
As of now, only about 70-75 2004 Orion VII OG hybrids remain in service. The MTA is rapidly killing off their 3rd ever batch of Orion 7s. Also, 1996 Novabus RTS #9006 was reported to be parked at Eastchester for some reason. This bus WAS at ground zero at the night if 9/11/2001, so maybe that might get preserved as well even though we already have a 9/11 bus...

Orion6025
I've taken the liberty of dropping the roster of remaining Gen 1 Orions assigned to a depot. Please note that not every single one of these is actually running. Some buses are up at Zerega doing god knows what, others are OOS pending scrap. Furthermore, this list changes literally every day so this will only be accurate for probably the next 12 hours? Breakdown By Model Year: 2003 (2): 6383, 6390 2004 (44): 6393, 6400, 6412, 6418, 6423, 6427-6429, 6431-6434, 6436, 6439, 6441-6442, 6445, 6447-6450, 6454-6456, 6458, 6460, 6463-6467, 6469, 6471, 6473-6475, 6478-6481, 6483-6485, 6487 Breakdown By Depot: Manhattanville (7): 6383, 6390, 6393, 6400, 6412, 6418, 6423 Queens Village (39): 6427-6429, 6431-6434, 6436, 6439, 6441-6442, 6445, 6447-6450, 6454-6456, 6458, 6460, 6463-6467, 6469, 6471, 6473-6475, 6478-6481, 6483-6485, 6487 I would expect the Queens Village count to plummet imminently. That depot received 11 new Nova LFS in the past two days and only retired 2 Orions... Add 1 more Nova to Queens Village, 2 to Kingsbridge, and 3 to Gun Hill if we're talking the entire past week. I won't be doing these fleet-status update posts on a regular basis since posting daily updates is frankly not really productive and just clogs the forum. That said I generally keep the wiki status mostly up to date so check that if you're into this stuff (Since stuff changes daily and I'm not editing everyday, inevitably every edit becomes outdated within hours).

This is mildly unrelated, but did the MTA ever repaired #2755 from the fire damage it had back in 2016 (mere months after delivery) or was it scrapped? Same with #2304? The only definitive answer I can give is that 2304 is done for good because it sustained significant frame damage and they didn’t want to bother with it. I never heard the final world on 2755; it’s possible it could return since 8016 (or whatever number that bus was) came back after that fire but 2755 was burned up so bad I doubt they would try making the repairs

Chris.A
MetroCard bus 1991 TMC RTS #8319 is still active despite rumors of being scrapped. That's good for it is the last NYCTA TMC RTS in existents (that we know of, a repowered one at that!). 2015-2016 Prevost car X3-45 #2589 was in an accident on SI and is OOS for now. As far as the NYCTA Orion VII OG hybrids go, 4 more 2004 hybrids have been retired and several 2005-2006 units have been retired as well for some reason : #6604-6605, #6671, #6681, and #6685. #6546 is also written off due to an engine mishap. Lastly 2002 New Flyer D60HF #5534 has been overhauled and is being preserved as a museum bus!
