although not an actor or a famous celebrity, Bill Moggridge - the man who help shaped the technology world by designing the world's first laptop (portable) computer as we know it today, had passed away at age 69: http://www.ctvnews.ca/sci-tech/early-laptop-designer-moggridge-dies-at-69-1.949373

Sam Sniderman, the guy behind the "Sam The Record Man" retail stores, had passed away on Sunday at the age of 92.

Remember those spinning and flashing neon record signs that was shown at the iconic Yonge Street location?

There's a celebrity death that definitely hits home for me. I had the fortune to meet him once when I was working at Citizenship and Immigration. A fine gentleman, really down to earth. He really did have a warmness about him.

Having worked at an event a few weeks ago where he was in attendance, I had the opportunity to have my picture taken with him, however he was looking incredibly frail and I passed up the opportunity so he wouldn't have to stand up any longer than he was already struggling to do.

Are there any named highways in Ontario that are named after living people anymore?
