I was always under the impression they were related somehow as it seemed to be too much of a coincidence  two people with that unique last name both in Canadian show business, but there does not seem to me much evidence online that the two were related.

Sadly, the STAR TREK community lost a talented actor — not to mention an incredibly kind, passionate man — today. Aron Eisenberg, who played the pivotal role of "Nog" in STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE, has passed. Aron was always a fan-favorite at conventions; he recently appeared in the DS9 documentary "What We Left Behind" and co-hosted "The 7th Rule" podcast. We extend our condolences to his wife, dear friends, and fans around the world.

Unfortunately the STAR TREK community lost a legendary actor last night: Jack Donner, who played "Tal" in THE ORIGINAL SERIES episode "The Enterprise Incident" (a character which we at STC re-introduced in our two-part series finale). Mr. Donner was 90 years old and passed peacefully in his sleep. Our deepest condolences to his loved ones and fans.
