Update on transit service improvements starting September

Recommended Posts

In addition to the confirmed #33 (UBC <-> 29th. Ave. Station) and C19 (UBC <-> Alma), Translink will introduce midday service between Maple Ridge and Braid Station

In response to customer requests, the September service changes will include the introduction of a midday service between Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadows and the Braid Street Skytrain Station and improvements to the numerous routes in the South of the Fraser sub-region, mostly during the midday and on weekends.

Wondering if they will change the route number from #791 to #702..

it might confuse people already using the current route if they do... so they may just keep it... but not sure...

Is there anything else that they might want to introduce as well? They usually do a lot of improvements when September comes.

There are 2 others that I've noticed when peeking through the new schedule on the site:

- Improvement of 169 late evening service on weekdays (from every 30min to every 25/5 min)

- Improvement of 143 mid-day service (from every 30min to every 20min)

From what I've heard there isn't a lot of big changes this September. The big ones are the 33, C19 and more 791 service.

Some big stuff comes in December with the new 364 (Langley-Scottsdale via 64th) and 388 (Walnut Grove-22nd Street Stn via 88th)

Today George Prior, and I took the morning to ride the first 33 ever. I can say with pride that I was the first official passenger to ride on the 33 :D The route is fairly nice in my opinion but I prefer what's coming up later in this report :D
