London Transit Commission

GM artic 5001

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd mention this, for 100in1 day London (Saturday June 3rd), LTC will be selling unlimited ride $5 passes which they began selling on May 17th. Yesterday I went to their downtown office to pick up one for myself, and surprisingly, I was the only one who had purchased one so far.

Here is what the pass looks like for those who want to know

Most likely used for or will be used on another route at some point. That is unless the 24 is wildly popular now.

You're right, I think that run goes on the 15/21 later in the afternoon. Still is a bit odd

The new Xcelsiors are starting to show up at Highbury. The newest batch of XD40s is now being numbered 501 and up, so far 506 is the highest one delivered.

Drove by friday looks like a bunch are there now at least 10.

All except 525-527 and whatever they decide to number the new artic have arrived now.  501 was on the road today for the first time.

On a side note ... 426 is now sold to the Delaware Speedway and will be crushed by a monster truck in a few weeks.

Noticed some more new buses out in service today on webwatch

501 on the 14

502 on the 16

503 on the 35

504 on the 10

They've been in service for a few weeks at least. I rode 503 on July 15th, and they're pretty much identical to the previous order

Up to 512 in service.

Only 2004s left on the road are 452, 456, 459, 461, 463 and 464. Some other buses done too but cant remember them all ... I know 467, 471 and 473 are done and I think 482.

I did see 465 as well this past Saturday. Did that one retire recently?

Has the 2017 XD60 entered service? I'm planning on heading up there to get some LTC artic shots within the next couple weeks and I'm hoping to cross some off my list. I'm missing the 2012 D60LFRs and all XD60s.

Yes it’s #34. Best place to find it (and other XD60s) would be on routes 29, 33. Sometimes you can find them on route 6, 13, and 90 as those routes over the past few weeks have been getting 1 artic each day. For the LFRs, you’d most likely find them on routes 27 and 102/106.

Route 27 Runs 1, 2, 3 are supposed to have articulated buses assigned  out of Highbury.

Route 102 Run 2 & 3 are supposed to have articulated buses assigned  out of Highbury.

Route 106 Run 9 & 10 are supposed to have articulated buses assigned  out of Highbury.

Route 29 Runs 1, 2, 3 are supposed to have articulated buses assigned  out of Wonderland.

Route 33 Run 1 and 2 are supposed to have articulated buses assigned  out of Wonderland.

Route 91 Run 13 and 14 are supposed to have articulated buses assigned  out of Wonderland.

Also 13 Run 1 out of Wonderland seems to get a articulated bus.

Also 6 Run 3 out of Wonderland seems to get a articulated bus.

Has the City of London released bus purchase information for the London Transit Commission for next year? I ask as the current Metrolinx Transit Purchase Initiative was optioned for another year for Nova Bus. Any chance if they look at Nova for the first time in their history, or staying with New Flyer even if it means that the prices may be higher per bus?

I've noticed that within the past week or two, there are less and less artics out. This is the case on routes 29 and 33 which have been showing only one on each on LTWatch. Is there something wrong here?

They could be down for repairs.  It seems one of the wonderland artics is ending up on route 17.

Possibly a few need work done? Wouldn’t be surprising because all those Wonderland artic runs are out weekdays for nearly the entire day.

28-34 are allocated to Wonderland garage, and there are 7 runs each day that are “supposed” to have artics assigned to them, and one run each on routes 6 and 13 that have been getting an artic for nearly a month. I’ve also been seeing one on the 17 run out that’s of Wonderland recently. So...9 or 10 runs for 7 buses, plus the fact there are really no spares could explain why there are fewer out. Also, don’t expect to see many out next week since it’s Reading Week
