Thank you for the pointers, and yes the u-haul has its advantages when you're on the lam from the ahs peace officers.  Just park it right next to the u-haul lot, perfect camouflage

Most of this list predates my US trip. In fact, I've only added a few numbers the past couple of days but seen many buses I already had noted.

The plan has been apparently to purchase some new buses each year. So far ony the Diamond's have shown up at that was going on 2 years ago.

Looking at a ETS Projects & Initiatives Highlights 2009 booklet...

Apparently DATS was to get 5 buses in 2009.

"Five units are schedules to be replaced this year and tentatively in-service by the end of 2009".

I'll be damned if I've seen 5 new units running around!

DATS deal done

4:49pm

Inews880.com

8/25/2010

The city has reached an agreement with Edmonton's 130 Disabled Adult Transit Service (DATS) operators.

The settlement gives them a 4.5% wage increase for 2010. The DATS drivers ratified the deal earlier this month.

"We're pleased to have reached an agreement with the union. We value the service DATS provides to all those in our community who are disabled and rely on DATS for a better quality of life," says David Edey, General Manager of Corporate Services, in a news release.

The drivers are members of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 569 DATS (ATU 569 DATS). Last year, DATS provided over 900,000 trips to approximately 10,000 riders. (efmb, ccg)

Saw 5106 today while driving. Looked like it could be a Goshen coach.

I think it also had a "destination sign area" that was clear, and the rear indeed had some round cues. Almost like a Turtle Top bus.

Saw 5111 this morning. Definitely has that "destination sign area", black front bumper too. Didn't get to see the rear again.

Saw this bus just now on 99 Street at 102a avenue. The desto sign on a dat's bus really makes you look twice.

Found this out at the airport today - definitely an ex-ETS DATS unit. The numbering font seems like it would be part of the Edmonton Taxi Service Group.

Funny if it is for sure part of the Edmonton Taxi Service Group, because they were originally delivered to their Laidlaw Transit yard when new, and now one may be operating for them?

Thanks to a tip from mike from edmonton. 5181-5185 seem to be newly delivered.

The DATS logo beside the "destination sign" area is lighter blue than the ones that have been appearing on the existing units.

Should have paid closer attention when I was on the 80 the day before! I saw them but just discounted them as being anything interesting.

4 Corbeil's have been sitting parked towards the eastside of Percy Wickman. I would imagine their days are numbered.

Rounded corners on those stickers on the front too. I don't think the ones they added to the rest of the fleet have the corners rounded on them. Maybe I'm just getting old and losing my memory tho...
