Ode of Bund
Hello, even a Hinton transit monthly pass is more expensive than an Edmonton transit montly pass.

BusMaxx
Hehe... reminds me of a certain transit system in Ontario that go scrapped last year...Nice pics. I think this lil system will work out.... i just dont see how towns or regions with similar populations, here in Ontario, cant do the same thing.... I can easily think of at least 3 towns where something like this could work

Parsons
I think this lil system will work out.... i just dont see how towns or regions with similar populations, here in Ontario, cant do the same thing.... What I think should be done in all/ most provinces is have a provincially run transit service that does provide service to smaller cities and town, like BC Transit does. That way, it's not up to each municipality to try fund what will more than likely be a money losing operation. It also allows certain economies of scale, such as province wide bus purchases vs. each town buying 2-3 buses.

Just look at what BC transit has done. Isnt that what Metrolinx will eventually be??
armorand
...any news on Hinton Transit? Seems they have the same bus: http://www.hinton.ca/index.aspx?nid=
BCT-3122-D800-10240
I've only seen these two buses... As you can see, #3240 doesn't say "Transit" on it though.. So I am not sure if it is part of the transit fleet or not, but I would almost believe that it is. Board Admin A. Wong Posted February 27, 2015 Board Admin Report Share Posted February 27, 2015 I was passing through Hinton this week and I noticed they have a current generation Collins (or Corbeil) bus now. http://www.collinsbuscorp.com/products.php I also found this Diamond cutaway called the Freedom Express. It is owned an operated by the Town of Hinton, but I'm not sure what it's for and appears to be separate from the First contracted units.
Seashore_518203
Bumping an old post ... I received a fleet list from the town of Hinton today. WindstarDriver
Hello everybody! I am new here but I figured you guys might be able to help me find the VINs for Ex Hinton Transit 3025 and 3026. Also I saw the Diamond Cutaway #6234 at Griffiths Ford in Hinton and got the VIN for a list I am trying to make. Other then that Hinton Transit 121679 has been parked at Kal Tire in Hinton for a long time and 121680 has been operating like normal. Thanks you! WindstarDriver
Hi y'all, it's been a while. Hinton Transit System has recently retired their Diamond E-450 due to serious mechanical issues and have opted to lease 2 new buses from First Canada. The new buses are a pair of 2009 GMC Savanna G3500s numbered 4421 & 7366. 4421 was the first of the two to go into service (June 9th 2021) with 7366 following on June 11th. These buses are the first and only handicap accessible buses to be operated by HTS and the first since the retirement of 3025/3026 to be powered by diesel. HTS 121680 is still on roster and is a backup bus according to a driver I was talking to. 121679 is still retired (and will likely never return to service) due to a blown transmission. When 6234 first was retired HTS was left with only 121680 for a while and had First Canada 2068 (another Diamond E-450) to substitute for 6234 until the new GMCs were put into service. Pictured below is 4421 on its first day of service. Second picture is 7366 in its first day of service
Articulated
Stopped in Hinton on July 19, 2022. The local bus operating that day was 121441, a Ford E-450 with Diamond Coach VIP 2500 body. Unlike the previous fleets there did not appear to be any visible or obvious "Transit" markings, so it's likely just pulled from First's pool of charter buses.
WindstarDriver
2068 and 121441 both are our transit buses. 7366 and 4421 have been retired after being extremely unreliable additions to the fleet. Since your photo was taken both 2068 and 121441 have had "Transit" and advertisement stickers applied
WindstarDriver
121441 seems to have been retired from HTS likely due to mechanical issues. Earlier today I saw 121441 get its bike rack removed and put onto First Canada 142251 which as of today (while still wearing BC plates) now has a "Town Of Hinton" sticker on it. 142251 is, like 3 previous HTS buses a Ford E-450 with a Diamond VIP 2500 and a 6.8L Triton V10 Just now, WindstarDriver said: 121441 seems to have been retired from HTS likely due to mechanical issues.
