That's sick! Thanks for confirming it for us! Wow, a 1978 GMC RTS is alive in St Jean! All I need now are pics of it in service, but the way it was parked at the back all by itself next to a school bus didn't look too good. I just hope its not retired yet as the license plate is still on it!

the bus is use as a spare when they retired one of the other bus on the urban route, and he will be retired soon because by the end of this year we will receave other Nova LFS.

Here is a short roster of the bus on the urban route:

1 RTS 200? 30'

1 Orion V 35' used on rush-hours only

4 Ford Minibus 3 for Iberville route (new bus) and 1 spare (pre-2000)

5? Nova LFS (2004-2007)

some time when shortage on buses, they used suburban bus on route 31.

route:

31 Industriel: deserved the lower part of Saint-Jean

31 Grand-Bernier: deserved the upper part of Saint-Jean

32 saint-Luc: deserved the old part of Saint-Luc

33 Du Séminaire Nord: his the main street and cut the city in two

34 Iberville

Didn't look like MRC les Moulins had any Classics since at Terminus Terrebonne it was just Orion V and LFS, right?

One of these LFS has a wrap for a local realtor.

Anyway first ride ever on an Orion V in Quebec was undertaken with 29133 on the 19A and later 29128 on the 40. Their Orions seemed clean and well maintained to me.

Going to have to check that out, I've been disgusted by them ever since the atrocious experience three of us had last winter.

As far as I know...they have no Classics...not anymore anyhow.

I think your opinion will change, when I was at Terminus Terrebonne, there was no Orion V that stood out as being disgusting. If only these buses were older, I'd charter them, but they are not... are they from model year 2000?

I've ridden them before, the 01 have beaten up alot. Haven't rode them for the last few years.

2001 and 2004 model.

Where is the separation in the numbering between the 2001 and the 2004 models?

Somewhere between where they installed the Orion badge. The 01 have the metal one with spike on the side while the 04 have a sticker. I have to check the photo.

No need to start a new thread over it.

I summon the CIT expert! :P

My question concerns schedules, maps and tickets for CIT's.

What I want to know:

Who publishes what; who has schedules, who has maps.

Where can I get them, it's obvious for some, but not so obvious for others.

->How are they available, ie: 'over the counter' or 'Buffet-Style'?

Tickets:

Where can I get what for which agency?

Average cost?

What media are they offering?

Who has transfers, who doesn't?

Thanks!

Who publishes what; who has schedules, who has maps.

Well, they all have schedules :P

CITSO has a map of their Chateauguay services only

CIT Roussillon, CIT Le Richelain, SURF and Ville de St-Julie have detailed maps.

CRC doesn't publish a map, Vallée-Richelieu has a small line with dots for cities :( (as does CITSO's Valleyfield service)

CITSV doesn't have a map. GORTC and MRC Les moulins have simplified route drawings.

Where can I get them, it's obvious for some, but not so obvious for others.

Which isn't it obvious for?

Metropolitan therminuses carry all or most of the schedules for the routes operating out of their respective locations. For local routes, it's best to hit a shopping mall or the CIT HQ itself

How are they available, ie: 'over the counter' or 'Buffet-Style'?

Most of them are over the counter, only a few are available without talking to someone :P and it's not all the time

Where can I get what for which agency?

See the "Point de Vente" for each respective CIT on the AMT's page or on the CIT's own website:

A few examples are:

http://www.citsv.amt.qc.ca/tarifs/pvente.asp

http://www.citroussillon.com/francais/tari...s_de_vente.html

Average cost?

Varies immensely.

For example a local trip on SURF is $2.50, and a long distance trip on the most expensive CIT is $11.50

Most, however are in the $3-5 range

What media are they offering?

None have converted to OPUS yet so they all still have regular media.

I rarely travel without a TRAM pass so I don't know very much about individual ticketing.

CITSO's 10 pass is a card that has squares that are punched (Photo)

SURF has converted to SCAM cards :)

CIT VR has individual paper tickets in a booklet

Who has transfers, who doesn't?

SURF's transfer is on the SCAM card.

On request, CITSO will give a transfer to/from Chateauguay routes.

CIT Roussillon has transfers (ask SMS about that :) )

The St-Jerome Tranny's are 2004 models.

As for the south shore:

Ville de Saint-Hyacinthe

11050? - All white Orion V 40ft on the CEGEP route

All other buses (4) are trash cutaways running for the city.

Bottom line, don't fan in this city!

Veolia Boucherville garage:

49102 - all grey Orion V 40ft deadhead to garage

Saint-Julie terminal:

29601 - all grey Nova RTS seems to be a 1999 model

57601 - brand new Nova LFS suburban in St-Julie livery

Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville AMT terminal:

44306 - A tranny suburban 2004 model

33002 - a 1985 GM Classic ex-STRSM!

34302 - a MCI/Nova? Classic suburban with rear wrap for Univers Toutou

32302 - a MCI/Nova? Classic surburban with rear wrap for Banque Desjardins

52302- a 1991 TMCI Classic ex-Connecticut Transit

:( Wow. I can't believe these buses are still around. I think that Limocar CITVR used to have 9018B1 which I rode once back in 1997 or 98. One Limocar driver told that these buses were from Boston but I don't know if this is true.

This could be true, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Most of Boston (MBTA) New Looks that were 40ft long and even the 35ft models had double stream exit doors like Montreal's New Look. The Limocar New Looks we saw yesterday had no rear door (it was filled), BUT there originally was a rear door on them and it was single stream. Also, they had rear AC pods.

Okay thanks. I can't figure out Saint-Bruno numbering scheme!
