Would this mean that,

The buses used for NPC be retired and replaced with NT buses?

And two, would this also allow NT to be purchasing a whole crap load of expansion/replacement buses?

Nick, NPC would not use an old bus for tourist!

NT is not really expanding, more like replacing it.

Something I've been curious about concerning Niagra and area.

Since that the Brock University has the "Brock Express" or shuttle service, are buses from each system, St. Catharines, Welland and Niagra used?

Each city has their own bus going there, if that's what you mean. The Brock Rapid is operated by Niagara Transit.

Hey I'm going to niagara falls friday december 4th and I need some advice on how to go around the falls. Well, last time I took coach canada to the VIA station, right beside the NT garage. Then I took the NT "green line" to clifton hill. I'm just wondering if everything will be the same now that its almost winter. I'm staying in the sheraton on the falls, near clifton hills for two nights and 3 days. Lots of fanning for me that day! Does anyone know any GOOOOD attractions that aren't too expensive and quite enjoyable that my friends and I might want to check out?

Thanks for ANY help!

P.s, any new buses I may see or buses I should look for?

In Niagara Falls ? are you kidding? Niagara Falls is a joke

I would keep an eye out for any of the Niagara Transit Classics! They are seldom used in regular service.

The Falls shuttle is done until next May so don't bother looking for a green/red/blue line. To get to the falls, you'll have to look for routes 2, 3, 4, or 5 at the bus stop beside the bus terminal which will bring you to the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Clifton Hill. From Monday to Saturday during the day, one of these routes leaves on the hour and every 15 minutes thereafter. A bus leaves on the hour & half past the hour Monday to Saturday evening on either routes 2 or 5.

I'm not certain about Sunday service but I think it's the same as evening service (on the hour and half past the hour) from the bus terminal. The Saturday evening and Sundsy service must have been reinstated because in the past, there wasn't any service at all during that time frame.

Thanks Glen,

So I'm leaving this friday. And ill get on the 1 to victoria and clifton hill. (Is this walking distance to the falls?) Then when I come back on a SUNDAY, can someone help me with getting back to the GO/VIA station?

Route 1 (Hospital) does not go to Victoria Avenue and Clifton Hill. Routes 2, 3, 4 and 5 meet Victoria Avenue and Clifton Hill on Friday during the day.

Walking from Victoria Avenue and Clifton Hill to the bottom of Clifton Hill is about 10 minutes then about another 15 minutes to walk to the Horseshoe falls. The 6 Chippawa might be a better option to shorten the walking distance because it stops at Stanley and Murray streets which is the closest stop to the falls. However, to travel on 6 Chippawa, you will have to leave the GO/VIA stop at 30 minutes past the hour on 2 Jubilee then transfer at Main & Ferry Streets to 6 Chippawa. The driver can assist you to make the connection. The disadvantage of this method is that you have to wait for up to an hour for one bus rather than 15 minutes worst case.

To return to the GO/VIA station on Sunday, you will be boarding a 2 Downtown or 5 Downtown bus which will meet the Victoria/Clifton Hill intersection just shortly after 15 or 45 minutes past the hour.

Update - I discovered that buses might not travel along Victoria at Clifton Hill during the tourist off-season. Instead, the route is one blcck away from Victoria and Clifton Hill. After walking up Clifton Hill to the Victoria Avenue intersection, continue straight past the traffic lights (street name changes to Centre Street) to the next block which is Ellen Street to meet the 2 or 5 bus headed to downtown.

Thanks to all for the planning help for my trip this weekend. Great sucess.

When I got off my go bus (friday night) I boarded 2985, to victoria and close to clifton hill

Then saturday I took 2577 to and from factory one outlet malls, on 3 Westlawn.

This morning I took 2985 again at victoria and clifton hill to GO/VIA, it was on route 2.

I had double stalker buses! Saw NO V's or Classics this wknd though :P

they were painted to specs the roof has the blue trim like the el dorados.. and the unit number in green on the topmiddle of the windsheild.. but all the decals are being done by NT

So what are the unit numbers? Just curious as we are so close to 2010 I am wondering if they would be 2986 and on or something else.

Niagara's NOVA's have arrived which has retired

GM Classic 8373

MCI Classic 8835

Orion V 9038

Says on Wiki that 8373 is active.

I dont think they would have retired it because it was bought last year.

Maybe they retired the one that was bought in 2004.

If they retired the one that was bought in 08 it would have been a waste of money

Painting it up too.

the numbers are continuing from 29xx it looks like..

8373 is a peice of S*** why they bought it in the first place is beyond me

when St.Catharines got them in 2002 "8381" (at the time) was the last one on the road due to constant brake and engine problems

9038 is the one that boggles my mind why it's retired.. the manager told me it was going to have another 2 years left
