They use the artics on 104/110 due to heavy traffic. Also with the new 30 minute service that helps as well.

Does this mean that they're using less buses on the WEGO system (as in service cuts)?  I've noticed the Purple line has been integrated into the Green line, already.

Green line is run by Niagara Parks, they are a different entity than us, we don't even have radio contact with them. They will be adding I think 4 more buses to the Red Line starting june 23rd and another Blue Line bus as well for the summer. The tourists coming in increase demand on the red line that much that they are doing 15 minute service i believe for the red and blue. Next year they are adding more 30 minute services to the city routes, they've already added 30 minute service to a lot of routes already this summer as well. Demand is going up, not down.

How many Artics are on the 104 and 110? I assume WEGO will be acauiring more buses for the extended service.

its a 30 minute service i believe so 2. the 110 turns into 104 and vice versa for the bus coming back. we have the buses for the extended service but they could use normal wego branded novas as well to fill the gap for the summer service.

WEGO service is reduced when it's not peak tourist season (July/August, or even May-October), so they have a bunch of extra articulated WEGO buses sitting around being unused. This is the same reason the old Orion IV Peoplemovers had trailers, they just unhooked the trailers during the off-season and kept them parked.

I think the plan was for one or two units wrapped for the local system would get unwrapped before peak summer service hits by the end of the month.

Looking at the schedule, both 104 and 110 do take about 30 minutes to go from Main/Ferry to their terminus and back, so yeah unless they are interlining at the opposite terminals I would assume 2 buses on the route total.

Are there still plans to get some permanent artics for the local routes this year?

As far as I've seen in my 5 weeks working there the only route that really has a permanent artic is the 110/104, it is by FAR our busiest run. literally every stop on victoria we stop at. from what i've seen they run 1 artic on the 110/104 and the alternating bus is just a normal city bus. same for night service when it turns into the 210/204

Aren't the WEGO buses in NFT wrap entirely owned by NFT or perhaps they could be on loan from the NPC?

We own all the WEGO buses, including their green line buses. They rent them from us, Niagara Transit. I dont know what niagara parks is doing with increased service or not for the summer. They seem to have a lot of buses now as it is.
