Are public timetables now extinct?

Why don't people who develop these sites understand that people like to know the times of the buses other than the actual time they are at the stop. If I was planning a trip to Niagara Falls on a Saturday, how would I know the times in advance?

I also thought the WEGO routes were supposed to service areas that did not previously have service. It looks an awful lot like the old NPC Peoplemover and Falls Shuttle routes to me.

The WEGO site is now up (wegoniagarafalls.com). According to the site, the new service will start August 13th and should be in full service by the 23rd with all four routes meeting at Table Rock which will serve as the main hub. The Green Line will run the Niagara Parkway, Red Line along Lundy's Lane, Blue Line will run Fallsview/Victoria Centre/Clifton Hill and the Purple Line along Queen Street downtown.

Fares will start at $11.30 for adults and $7.35 for children 6-12 years where those 5 and under ride free, then after October 24th, adult fare will be $7.91 and $3.96 for passengers 6-12. Tax is included.

so the last day of the People mover Orion IV buses will be August 22? and both Orion IV people mover and WEGO Novas will be running together between August 13 to 22? I still saw the people mover schedule until October on its website........so!?!? I am kinda confused!

right now, I am confused too, won't really know till it happens, if I go down on the 23rd and see no IV's then the 22nd is the last day for them.......

and yeah, it's already frigged that the schedules and stops havent been added yet.

they've still got all but one of the 27 buses at the Rapidsview lot and Clever Devices doesn't seem to know what they're doing with the ITS; and supposed the Orions will be kept as backups

edit: the maps are up with the stops and it says "WEGO operates daily from as early as 9am to as late as 1am April through October and a modified schedule will be in place November through March"...no frequencies mentioned but I believe it will be every 15 minutes

It doesn't surprise me that WEGO is operating without a published schedule... last year's practice for the PeopleMover was to use 9 of the available 10 pairs on IIRC a 90 or 99 minute round trip, so when two pairs were out of service, they adjusted the headway accordingly. Having no published schedule allowed them to do this more flexibily. Regardless, with service (normally) under 10 minutes and without the need for connections, a schedule was not really necessary for the PeopleMover operation.

Are those fares a joke? Quite an increase from the Falls shuttle fare.

i hope it's not that if you're down there for one day (i'd be peeved if it was). that might be the price for a two-day pass.

just wondering if the new WEGO bus facility is still under construction or not? so where do all these WEGO buses being parked before the facility being completed? Thank you

the combined WEGO/ NFT/GO Transit facility is in the final design phase and they're hoping to have it open winter 2014-15, and NFT's WEGO units are being parked in their compound in the meantime, with them presumably storing some inside the present facility in the winter; the NPC ones are at Rapidsview

so at the meantime they will park all the WEGO units at NPC facility? the garage doesn't seem to be big enough to store all the Novas tho.......or some of them will be parked at the NFT garage at the meantime?

the NFT and NPC units will be stored at their respective facilities until the NFT garage opens, and the NPC ones will presumably get parked in their garage when the Orions go

WEGO started today. Looking at the Green Line NPC Novas, 9002, 9003, 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007, 9008, 9009 are out. Green Line seems to be operating about every 10 minutes right now compared to the other lines.

9001 was out as well, got a ride on it.

it would also seem that the Purple Line will see the 40 footers while the Red and Blue will see the artics. The seats in the NPC units are all side facing front to back, don't know what type of seats they are. I also think they have an Allison tranny but could be a ZF.

They are ZF Transmission.

Looking at 97SCT's videos just now, the NPC units indeed have Allison trannys. You can tell by that distinctive Allison sound as it slows down.

Seats are American Seating Insights.

You might wanna hold your thought on that, because the 40fts and 60fts are all scattered today between the three lines.

Is it confirmed the Niagara Parks Commission received ten artics independent of the 20 delivered? I doesn't seem like all buses up to 5220 have been spotted. I don't know where the fleet numbers and powertrain information came from, but if it was speculation it should not be put up on the wiki.

so far I have seen 5301-5305 (40 foot) and 5201-5211 (60 foot). I would assume that's all for NFT. The Parks Commission's units, are 9001-9009 for their artics and 9010-9011 for the 40 foot fleet.

Here is 9010 earlier this afternoon

I'm assuming the Orion IVs are off the road now seeing as how the Niagara Parks site is directing people to the WEGO site. Can someone confirm this?

The People Mover Buses and Parts are up for sale!

9001-9009 definitely have Allison B500R transmissions, looking at 97SCT's videos.

I don't know where the other ones came from.

Nice shot, but I am confused. With the destination sign, the bus is heading northbound to the Queenston Traffic Circle. But it is loading at the platform normally used for Peoplemovers travelling southbound to Rapidsview Parking Lot. Have they revised the routing at Table Rock?
