97SCT
What routes are the Classics used on? They could be out on the 3, 10a/b, and the Falls Shuttles (most likely on the last few weeks of service before thanksgiving) Although 8937 may have been on the 3 recently as i saw it at the garage with "3 Downtown" displayed plus, 2989 was out on the 2 Jubilee, up at the front on the inside of the bus, the fleet number is displayed as just "89"

97SCT
i was up in the Falls yesterday, NFT now has two different variations of day passes in my opinion; the original day pass is still 6 bucks, however it can be used on regular routes but not on the Falls Shuttle a new iRide pass which costs 10 bucks can be used on both regular and Falls Shutle services, you tap the card on the farebox
t_harris01
Where can I find online info about the old 7 and 8 routes that ran in Niagara Falls?
97SCT
as of July 1st, NFT has increased the passenger fare from $2.35 to $2.50 and the Falls Shuttle is now $3.50 and you know how on the Classics for example; the number shows "8835" on the outside but inside its displayed as "35"? well, the other day i got 2988 (Nova LFS) on the 4 Jill, the interior number is displayed as "88"
Seashore_518203
Interesting news on the People Mover system ... see link below. http://www.niagarafallsreview.ca/ArticleDi....aspx?e=3273595 It would appear that low floor artics are possible as early as next summer. Articulated
Interesting news on the People Mover system ... see link below.http://www.niagarafallsreview.ca/ArticleDi....aspx?e=3273595 It would appear that low floor artics are possible as early as next summer. It sounds like they're planning on just expanding the Falls Shuttle system (going as far as to use the same colours and routing as the existing Falls Shuttle system). That article is not very clear on the routes either; I don't see any replacement of the Peoplemover north of Great Wolf Lodge (River/Victoria, end of the Green Line) to popular spots such as Queenston Heights and the Butterfly Conservatory. As for low-floor artics, Niagara Falls Transit did demo the LFX demo a few years ago when this system was still in the planning stages.

It says there getting 16 buses for the city routes (Red, Green and Blue) as well as another 11 buses for the parks commission route so that makes it sound like there still going to keep the route the Orion IV's currently run on. That's not quite correct. The news article earlier had the Red, Green and Blue lines with similar routings to today's Falls Shuttle. However the article has changed since my last view, and it lists a modification saying Blue will carry passengers from Victoria downtown to Marineland; this is in effect a combination of the old Green and Blue Falls Shuttle lines; I'm assuming the Green line (which now has no routing description) therefore will operate as the new Peoplemover. My assumption is that since there is no map associated with the article, the newspaper searched around and found the existing Falls Shuttle system using the same 3 colours as the new system, and made the (incorrect) assumption that it would be the same system. In effect it is, just the Blue line swallows the Green line (which in practice from my experience it did, with Green and Blue interlining at the transfer point with Red as a separate route), and the Peoplemover gets reassigned the Green colour. 2822
I wonder if they will improve service on the Blue and Red lines to every 10-15 minutes in the summer when they get the new buses next year.
newflyerinvero
With the information that I"ve since gathered, I'm wondering: Would Niagara Transit be operating the Red line giving that the Green and Blue lines would be operating the "People Mover buses [LFXes], as the Red would be using their own NT buses. Niagara Falls Transit will be operating the new Red and Blue lines with new LFX artics, and the Niagara Parks Commission will be operating the new Green line with new LFX artics. My understanding of the new route system is: New Red = old Red Line Falls Shuttle New Blue = old Green and old Blue Falls Shuttles New Green = old NPC Peoplemover The only change will be an integrated fare structure, and the use of dedicated articulated buses on all routes. I am heading to the Falls on Saturday and Niagara on the Lake. the Grummans are long gone now, GM Classic 8372 and Orion V 2063 are parked there and the chances of seeing a Classic or a V on a Saturday are slim to none. 8937 was outside the garage this past Saturday. TDE
i was up in the Falls yesterday, NFT now has two different variations of day passes in my opinion;the original day pass is still 6 bucks, however it can be used on regular routes but not on the Falls Shuttle a new iRide pass which costs 10 bucks can be used on both regular and Falls Shutle services, you tap the card on the farebox Over the weekend, I took advantage of buying the iRide for $10 at Union Station. It was just as convenient as Presto. What I didn't and do not understand, is on the back, there is this gibberish that the card can be registered at the website. Only to my discovery that there was no such thing. So, is the iRide a one-time pass or is it also a refillable card too? Quote on the back of the card: Use of this card constitutes acceptance of the applicable terms and conditions. Improper use is subject to fines or prosecution. Return lost cards to any Bus Operator. Registereed cards (does not include Falls Shuttle), can be replaced if lost, damaged or stolen for a fee. To register call 905-356-7521, ext 4500 or visit www.niagarafalls.ca A quick reflection, if i may about the system after a second round: About those fareboxes. I actually like the sounds of them. It has a catchy casino, video game "win win" sort of sound. Kinda sweet actually. Unfortunately, they forgot (as I believe it may have been mentioned eariler here) to have the map on the .PDF file. Which would have been a big help as I walked over an hour alongside the river, and contemplated walking down to a little further in hopes of seeing a bus stop. Where I found later, as I didn't take the chance, that Chippawa was the next Blue Line stop after the Table Rock stop. The LFS's were very interesting, I like them! And the Orion V and VII's were great, especially in the dark with the blue tint over the lights. One peeve I did notice was the lack of printed maps available on the buses (which one driver said they should be). Furthermore, I didn't notice any racks for the maps. Hmm. I wasn't exactly sure where to pick them up at the Bus Terminal or at that Garage. I was reluctant to go by the Garage as I felt it was off-limits. I don't know the system very well, and didn't want to take a chance by potentially trespassing. I would take the investment and spend the $10 again. Or at least the $6 if I'm going again in the winter. Big Ups to N.F.T.
