license plates: buses travelling into and out of NWT and Nunavut

As a license plate collector I pay close attention to the plates seen on highway coaches. I know that Alaska and Yukon are not members of the International Registration Plan (IRP, which governs PRP and Apportioned plates) and I do have photos of buses which travel to those places. They must display an extra plate from AK or YT if travelling in the jurisdiction. Buses displaying these extra plates are seen on occasion, but what I have never seen is a highway bus which is based in or travels into, NWT and Nunavut. NWT and Nunavut are not in IRP, either. So, has anyone here photographed charter or line haul highway coaches doing business in these two jurisdictions? Can you post photos?

My answer is I have never seen any, or that I have noticed at least. <_<

If you have company names, I could do a search through all my photos. Though I do remember a company with "Alaska" in its name, I think it was in the dark blue/red/yellow Gray Line/Worldwide Shore Services scheme that I could have a look for.

(Looks like mcooknell beat me in the other post)

That's the whole problem. I don't have any company names, else I would have searched long ago. I just thought there may have been some bus fans who travelled up that way or knew of some companies based on their knowledge and experience in the hobby. <_<

This isn't from those areas, but I have a photo of a Washington plate A73626Y (AppliedPrecision DL3) - is this anything special, or just a standard thing for commercial vehicles?

If the plate was on a bus and if it's not too much hassle I would be interested in seeing it in context on the bus. It's probably an apportioned plate. With most us states not making the distinction between app buses and app trucks, it makes the search that much easier when you know which to look for. But there are always surprises out there. Thanks for your help and participation in my threads. B)

Thanks. That is very interesting. The Miss plate was likely on a private bus of some sort as that is just an ordinary passenger plate. The WA plate (Evergreen State) should just be a comm plate. At first I thought it might have been an app plate but the bus doesn't appear to be in public service. Looks more like some of advertising bus. Or drop off point for cell phone pictures or something. Thanks for sharing. You took those recently, in Edmonton? Or do you travel a lot?

Those pictures were taken in June/July last year here in Edmonton. I think it's a mobile biology lab of some sorts. Saw that bus again earlier this year.

Here's an Alaska plate from Prince Albert Northern 158 I took in Lake Louise on July 31.

Thanks A Wong! I like that you are taking good rear views that clearly show the plates, I think I might have mentioned that before. Your photos seem to have different plates on the buses than I have recorded. I guess they change plates regularly. Also, since most of your shots are street level and taken at hotels, I am guessing these are casino charters? Funny thing with them too, each of their buses appear different and all have rather flashy paint jobs. That 155 is really something haha.

Glad to hear you are liking them. :P If you want me to check what the plates actually are, or want the higher resolution image (of any coach), just let me know. :) A bunch of us in Alberta take photos of coaches - www.kevinsbusrail.com www.busdrawings.com www.barp.ca - you may want to check those sites out too.

Could be casino charters, or just people taking trips to see the big mall, or to compete in something.

How 155 can be made to look even more flashy:

Here's an Apportioned plate taken by G. Prior:
