Some news

Invero 91 has joined the 99's and 1162 in the retired line

but on some positive Invero news.. bus #90 has been re-assigned to Regional Transit work starting September for the new 40/45. The St.Catharines Decals have been removed and the roof line now says "Niagara Regional Transit"

All Other Inveros (92,93,94,95) are scheduled for retirement around Christmas time with delivery of 5 new nova's starting next month

Really need to get myself across the border and see an Invero up close before they're gone.  Always found that to be an interesting bus.

Are there any further plans for St. Catharines Transit to introduce consistant route numbering for their routes instead of going to a 100=series route system during evenings and weekends? Seems silly to me that they would need to do that given that most of those 100's are almost the same then their weekday/daytime counterparts.

I'm trying to plan a day trip out to St Catharines in the coming weeks, mainly to catch the Inveros before they are gone, and I have a few question. Is service reduced during Brock's Fall break? If it is, would it just mean that the artics won't be in service or would the Inveros not be needed in service either? Also, any tips on where to catch the Inveros (i.e. routes they frequent, times they are usually out, etc.)?

Best bet is school trippers - basically routes 5 (st. Catharines collegiate high school) 6 Lake St (St. Francis and Eden High schools) 12 Vine St extra (Governor Simcoe high school). Apart from that they could be anywhere. Not sure if they reach Thorold that often. High schools end around 230

Here's a few pics of the St. Catharines Transit. Mainly at the Pen Center

Also, I love how the D40i #90 is with Niagara Region Transit Logo's, reason? Or did it go to Niagara Region Transit still in St Catharines Transit colors, I'm unsure,

Because of the new 40/45 Regional route that started last month. SCT needed an extra bus for Regional and 90 was chosen as a backup for the service.

Consolidation recommended for transit systems
By Maryanne Firth, St. Catharines Standard

The inter-municipal transit working group tasked with determining the future of busing in the region has decided a model that amalgamates the St. Catharines, Welland and Niagara Falls systems is the direction it wants to head.
