The CIT thread...

Any hint on the rolling stock? When I worked in La Haute-Saint-Charles, the Intercar yard was poor in things other than yellow "tapeculs". But that's some years ago.

Looks like the road bed collapsed under the right rear wheel.

Interesting relic from the pre-CIT era on the first picture : left of the diamond sign, you can see the Metropolitain Provincial fare zone change sign. This is located on the very Léry/Beauharnois border.

I guess that Orion V was assigned to route 20 if not on a training run. Typically they would assign a shorter Vicinity bus which has no problems avoiding the ditches if the driver is competent enough.

Here is some actual information about the Sainte-Julie fleet on the city website, including hilarious pictures of their surly Transdev drivers (in particular, the LFS and the Vicinity): http://transport.ville.sainte-julie.qc.ca/equipements

It should be stated that the new Ste-Julie bus terminal has been open for about a week now (opened 7 November 2016): http://www.ville.sainte-julie.qc.ca/fr/Nouvelle/181/Nouveau_terminus_de_Sainte-Julie-debut_des_travaux

Site plan (very cheap quality): http://transport.ville.sainte-julie.qc.ca/files/Plan_Ste-Julie_final 8 novembre 2016.pdf

http://saeiv-vsj.geomapguide.ca/files/2016 - Avis aux usagers - 2016-11-07.pdf shows Platform modifications.

http://saeiv-vsj.geomapguide.ca/files/VSteJ_cartes_ livret nov2016.pdf shows route maps.

Here is the Schedule guide: http://saeiv-vsj.geomapguide.ca/files/VSteJ transport coll livret nov2016.pdf

It also appears that there was a local route renumbering. Also my friend kellergraham has informed me that they will finally be granted Sunday service! (Source: http://saeiv-vsj.geomapguide.ca/files/2016 - Avis aux usagers - 2016-11-03.pdf) Finally! Welcome to the 20th century, Commission de transport collectif de la Ville de Sainte-Julie!

  • The regional board will abandon its Saint-Lin―Laurentides/Terrebonne (cégep) route #37, in favor of MRC Montcalm. Seeing how MRC Montcalm randomly operates its Saint-Lin/Joliette, the loss of route 37 puts a big question mark in that area;

Schedule for the new route 37 is hidden deep on the MRC Montcalm website. The transfer coordination with URBIS routes 14/17 at the Forum de la Plaine looks spotty. What a shame..

The REM will make obsolete the need for Double deckers in Saint-Jean.

Hilarious photo in that article

Incidentally I wonder if the new Confederation Line will make OC Transpo's DD's obsolete. Spoiler alert: YES

Transport Collectif Jacques Cartier (TCJC) will undergo some major changes on February 1

- Intercar will now be the service provider replacing Autobus Auger, also this will come with a brand new bus fleet and a new paint scheme (lots of blue !)

- TCJC will now offer some "transit trips", those are buses that would normally deadhead to/from garage. Stops are limited and are operating against the flow

- Major improvement in for the Lac-Beauport area, route 53 (that will put RTC route 53 to shame) will now be on service 7 days a week (except holidays). Departure are every hour at the top of the hour from the RTC Zoo Terminal. Service will be from 6 am to 9pm Sunday to Wednesday and 6am to 11pm Thursday to Saturday . I guess if this is successful, may be they will do the same for Ste-Brigitte and Stoneham in a near future.

Not sure why they changed the logo. This design sure looks like a high school project on Publisher. #TimesNewRoman

That would make it how many MD30's in total for CIT La Presqu'ile so far?

They will be sending me a fleet roster next week. They were waiting for more buses and wanted to give me the most up to date. I saw a total of 3 the day I was there. 335/336/352

South Shore CIT's need lots of new drivers, as suggested by some local newspaper ads in Saint-Bruno and Saint-Basile.  If you have a class 2 F license and looking for a transit job with an opportunity to drive a wide variety of vehicles in one fleet (CITVR still has some RTS's, drive them before they're gone this summer!), now is a good time.
