GMC T6H-5307N
Yes, it's true. The classics really only make it out on extra runs now... The routes 4, 5, 6, 17, 23, and 29 still see a few classics every once and a while. 213-

GMC T6H-5307N
Look who's back! 211 looks like it just returned from MTB today. Note the lack of a bike rack and clip on the front. In other news, 428, 573, and 576 have seen regular use these past few weeks.
BCT-3122-D800-10240
That last shot turned out so good! Others are good too, but that third shot of the left side is my favorite!
GMC T6H-5307N
Thanks! It turned out a lot better than I expected it would, as I used flash for it. The second shot is my favourite.
GMC T6H-5307N
Have been informed that 428 is toast, and is parked in the compound. Either has a seized engine, or its vapour-locked. Oldest active bus would now be 434. 433 still remains marked as "active" but has been parked in the compound with major problems and expired safety. Will hold off on updating the wiki for 428 in case it does return, or gets parted out.
SirFrimFram
Oh man... 428 was the first Classic I rode on here, and the second bus I rode (first one was a 2012 Novabus.)
Millennium2002
It's sad to see all this money being thrown around into old buses that end up retiring in less than a few years. In particular, I'm surprised no one has bothered to salvage those LED displays yet.
GMC T6H-5307N
Of the buses that got sent to auction that had LED signage, (which was 9 total) 8 got them removed. 504 was sent to auction quickly, and never got its sign or bike rack removed. They do save the signs when they send them to auction.

tim gueguen
Interesting. Makes me wonder what kind of shape the other 97 series buses are in, and what if anything 9707 had in its history that led up to this. I wonder what the bus drivers will think of the move to the new bus barns. At the moment they often catch the 75/85 at the stops at 23rd Street and Idylwyld to get to the current barns, or ride into the downtown transit mall. tim gueguen
Yeah, the 97s are old, but not the oldest buses in the fleet. The fact 9707 didn't survive inspection implies it saw heavier use than the rest, or had some specific problem the others don't. Unless of course the others are also removed from service in fairly short order.
buswrappervern
9707 was in very poor shape last time I seen it. Even the 9500 and 9700 refurbishment program a few years ago didnt fix everything.
