Had a nice little yearly visit to Edmonton. Was nice to see that all routes were smart bus trackable, and every bus had bike racks. Didn't appear to be any different since last year.

Spotted a trainee driving an articulated bus but had a little accident at Mill Woods TC! Got icy and the rear corner of the artic hit the rear corner of a low-floor. Took a while for the bus to get towed out; buses were told to do 3-point turns around it. I believe that was Friday April 21.

Nice shot! For those unfamiliar with the location, the construction site to the left in the photo is the new Kathleen Andrews Transit Garage and will have room for 300 buses

Westwood being replaced? When and why? Who is/was Kathleen Andrews? Where will the new garage be? Any plans for the current Westwood property after the garage  closes?

Just had an old memory flash back...

I remember that cross over when Belvedere was the end of the line. It was permanently set to crossover however the Northbound track was just a dead-end track just prior to 129th Avenue.

129th Avenue went about one block east and that was it. 129th was also a gravel road...

1002 at Cromdale. Seems it's parked on the mainline with a blank sign. Note in the second shot that it doesn't appear all of the catenary is intact. Either, Cromdale was still being built, or, it was being dismantled!

In retrospect, it doesn't even look like the mainline catenary is complete. Look like there only droppers on the catenary 1002 is under.

4912 on charter. This was 2005 for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference. As I recall, the wives of delegates were sent out on a tour of Edmonton and a little birdie who was driving the charter tipped me off to where and when the bus would be. As a result, some not too common shots of an artic in Northland's loop, and then turning onto 112 Ave.

Holey crap Batman!

That picture looks like 1002 is on main line while the line was still under construction!

Looks like the car is undergoing testing and it doesn't even look like theres seats in that car yet!

That tower in the background looks like the tower that used to be up at Northlands at the racetrack back in the late 70s or early 80s.. That's an old picture!

That's right !!! I knew I had seen that tower lots of times and couldn't place it right away.  I remember seeing photos of a U2 as a static display at the Coliseum one year during K-Days. Maybe it was this one.

It looks like there might be test gear too visible through the windows towards the rear of the car (relative to the photographer!).

Track work looks complete, overhead wiring not so much. Therefore, I don't think it was in the Spring of 1978... wiring would have been complete!

I really want to say the image is mid August to perhaps mid October 1977. It seems to have a bit of a yellowish cast from low sun, and certainly, there seems to be long shadows.

Both images are cropped. I'll have to post the originals.

Good eye on the testing equipment on the "A" end!

Strange to see the pantagraph "up" and half a door opened.... usually when half the door is opened the other door will open at the next cycle, then both doors will close on the final cycle... so obviously the batteries were turned off.

Training has always taught us that batteries off-pantagraph up is a bad thing. (except for the s200s) Wonder if there was a power cut?

Nevertheless excellent photos!

I take a lot of bus photos wherever I go when I’m not busy. Here is 4551 at Southgate as a Route 45 Century Park and 4555 as an Eskimos Shuttle at Commonwealth Stadium. Both of these photos are within a month old.

Very nice. When you have time try practicing getting more of the bus into the photo.  It takes some practice, but I think you will be an excellent photographer.

1017 and 1008 signed up as charter. I don't recall why now!

1026 signed up at Clareview as "76 Avenue". The original station name for Belgravia/ McKernan. I'm not aware of that exposure ever being used. BelMac was never a terminal station and to this day has never been used as one for when service is truncated for what ever reason.

Stub 9 trolley, 133 on a AM route 3 going out of service at 102 Ave/ 95 St, and 172 on a 133 with a SCT bus following that I didn't photograph but in hindsight I should have.

I want to say something along the lines of an ETS Community Conference or some kind of LRT open house (25th anniversary?)
