I have spotted 850 and 848 being towed to Capital bus about 3 weeks ago, I wonder if 851*the very last Classic ever built, retired or not? Thank you 850 towed to Capital Bus?!? I'm sure I saw 850 recently during rush hour!!! #848 on the other hand, is probably gone, since I haven't seen that one in a very long time. I doubt they sold off their 1998 Classic already, it's not even 10 years old, and they just rebuilt and repainted about 2 years ago, and CITSO is known to run their vehicles for an average of 18 - 20 years. I'm going to have to check into this, because this is a serious issue if they're starting to get rid of their Classics. Primarily because this may affect SMS's possible future charter plans, and secondly Auger isn't known to sell off his buses, he runs them into the ground, and leaves them at the far back of his yards. He obviously has an appreciation of old buses, because he bought up a few of those Connaisseur trolly buses that I had mentioned on the forum last fall. Thanks for the info though, I'm going to have to check out on Monday now to find out for sure what's going on.

Thank you I hope not! http://www.capbusparts.com/accan.html They seem to offer rebuilds so maybe 850 is in for a rebuild? PS: Ignore the pics down below, they're not 850 but of 851. :s
Mystic
I hope not! http://www.capbusparts.com/accan.html They seem to offer rebuilds so maybe 850 is in for a rebuild? PS: Ignore the pics down below, they're not 850 but of 851. :s Quite possibly. Since it was repainted about 2 years ago, but perhaps it went in this time for a total overhaul so it'll last another 10 or more years. Hmmm... Well, like I said, I'll have to see during Monday's rush hour, since I have seen 850 quite often recently, but not 851 since the beginning of June. I'm looking at their site now, and they're offering 20 rebuilt 1990/1991 MCI Classics, and like I said, these Nova Classics were built in 1997/1998, they're barely 10 years old. The mileage will be less than that of an urban bus since they generally only used Classics as rush hour vehicles, and they only really started using these ones in 2002 when the contract was awarded to Auger Metropolitain. I'd say most likely a rebuild job then, just like 851 had as well about 2 years ago.
SMS
OK guys... let's not freak out... I was fanning on Newman on Friday for PM rush and the following CITSO Classic buses were spotted: 851 858 847 I don't know why Alex didn't post his great CIT sightings yet... It did one trip only and never came back though, cuz I waited a longtime for it so I could get a picture... I guess I'll have to head back next week to Angrignon metro to get it.. It was repainted recently, and it even had the new decals applied a few months ago... It's only 10 years old, I sure hope it's in for a rebuild... By any chance did you see #844, #845, #846, they were in service just before the winter. #848 was gone about that time as well. Thanks for any info you can provide. I see from the towing that they could care less about what condition it was brought to them, so either they're going to replace those parts during the rebuild, or they'll use it for parts, but I would hope for the rebuild. What I really would like to know is, why the towing. Like I said, it was very recently since I saw #850, infact it was almost all the time, day and night service, but I hadn't seen #851 for a long time, months infact until two days ago. Perhaps they're taking a few buses at a time to work on them and bring them back. Since Auger is basically a maintenance garage, not a major overhaul specialist. One note though, #847 was gone for a long time and came back this spring with brand new panels, an entirely brand new skirt. So I just hope for the best, or else we are down to 4 Classics, 3 real and one Transcar.

Mystic
Notice the rusty rims on 848, that indicates it has been sitting somewhere for a long time. I haven't seen 848 in service for a very long time, and also notice that it doesn't have the CITSO Decals, which were put on a few months ago. However it does have the CITSO information written along the skirt which started to appear the middle of last year. So that gives you an approximate date of when the last time it was in service. Mystic
Looks like 858 will be out of commission for a while. I saw it limping back home this evening after rush hour. The destination was: "Bonsoir" "Garage" with the typical red RTL 1st generation Balios sign.
SMS
----- #847 - MCI Classic 1992 (Regular Day/Night/Weekend Service) - All white with gray skirt----- #851 - Nova Classic 1997 (MIA Since December 2007) - (LAST Classic ever built!!!) ----- #858 - Transcar Classic 2002 (Regular Day/Night/Weekend Service) - Backdoor was recently blocked up to add another two rows of seats. I'd like to make some amendments to the following buses: 858 - November 2003 Transcar Classic 851 - November 1994 Novabus Classic Suburban according to the sticker... however we all know that it's the last one made, so this sticker is erroneous 847 - August 1991 MCI Classic Suburban

Ok. However it has been on the road in Chateauguay since the Orions arrived back in 2002. 851 from 1994 is total BS, it is from late 96 early 97, there is no doubt in my mind unless someone's been playing with the builders plates. And 847 from August 1991, that's quite possible, since I heard it was 1992, and that's only a few months from then.
SMS
I will try to get an Auger transit bus fleet roster from the director of operations who I've met yesterday. I know some of those stickers are unbelievable, 847 though seems to be the most accurate!

Mystic
And they should not touch it! Well, I'll allow them to touch it by fixing the airbag or suspension problem, then put it back on the road. This is probably the closest I'll come to riding a GM Classic in Chateauguay. It used to sound like a cummins LFS engine, but over the last year or so, the GM Classic motor sound is getting louder and louder and except for the RTL style shifting, it sounds almost like a GM Classic with a V8. (Hard to explain, I know).
M. David
Um, does anyone know anything about this bus (see picture below)? It's 707, some kind of old-looking Prevost coach that I saw a few weeks ago laying over in the Carrefour Angrignon parking lot, along with 852, an Orion V. But that's all I know about it, though. Mystic
Yeah, something is really fishy with that! It's not the first time I've seen someone modify a builders plate, but what I want to know is why. In the case of 55-001, they wanted to rebuild the front since the dashboard area was cracked, but they completely ignored the fact that the builders plate was on the part they were replacing. (Accident, or intentional? hmmm...) Anyways, I wish they would put back 55-001's builders plate back. And I wish I could find out how a 1997 Nova Classic got a 1994 builders plate on it, especially since we have proof that it only showed up in 1997, and the VIN numbers correspond to a bus built in 1997. Someone is playing games here...
