2020 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 7053 was spotted at Main Street station this afternoon with about three TTC employees on board. One was a Supervisor/Trainer and an operator. Brings back old memories when these buses frequented New Eglinton routes.

The days when 87 used Vs , I like the days 87 used Highfloors, to bad I missed seing it today, hopefully they'll use a V as a Pizza Pizza bus one of these Wednesdays. spotted a subway shuttle bus at Dundas and YOnge around 11:00. My mom said a co-worker told her that some one jumped at Queen Stn to day morning so that's probably mhy you saw it.

Not as likely, I've been noticing Malvern has been putting quite a few Orion Vs on non accessible routes. 102 lately has been getting an Orion V daily, 130 seems to have a Orion V for rush hours my assumption is this will be the next route to be accessible, 131 I've been seeing more of them during midday lately. The only routes where I haven't seen a Orion V frequently lately is 129 although early 2006 they happened to show up more often, I have yet to see one on 132 recently.
wil9402 Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 I forgot to say I saw 6718 on 23 today, I saw it go NIS around 6:50ish. And also, 5850 has a digital speedometer.
502 Downtowner Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 1051 was on the 191 today. AV Spotting 2270 was on the 7. 6499 was on the 111.
York Transit Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Hmm...not really a sighting. But our train stopped in the middle of a tunnel, and the driver said "If you continue to play with the doors, we'll be sitting here for a long time!" The person stopped A first for me! lol Wilson Wu Markham, ON

I've been on trains when this happens a lot of times.
6254 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 9237 (the one that was retired in Feb this year) was on the back of a tow truck heading south on Allen Road, was it going to Hillcrest or to a scrap yard?

Your right, at least for at least the last two board periods I have noticed there has been an Orion V allocated to the 131 all day, I know one run starts in the AM rush and runs til the end of service. Sometimes during the peak periods another Orion V joins the other V that runs all day. This of course can change depending on Malvern's requirements.
Neil Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 9237 (the one that was retired in Feb this year) was on the back of a tow truck heading south on Allen Road, was it going to Hillcrest or to a scrap yard? No... because I saw it head east on Eglinton at Yonge Street at about 1:30pm yesterday. Some of the Orion V assignments may be a result of the late evening shuttle service required for the SRT. One bus comes off Markham Road.
wil9402 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 Malvern, Eglinton and Birchmount are providing service on 506 from Main Stn to Parliament due to the Dragon Festival on Gerrard from Logan to Broadview. 506 streetcars are going south on Coxwell, west on Queen, north on Parliament to route and south on Broadview, east on Queen, north on Coxwell to route. I rode 2746 on 506, I think the was the only Malvern bus out, while I saw a couple of Eglinton VIIs and one Birchmount V. Unfortunaltly, I pulled my batteries out of my camera when it was still prossesing my picture of 2746 because I thought there was something wrong with it and it deleted the picture . Also, 6688 is on 135 today, still nice and shiny, it looks brand new. There are 2 VIIs that I saw today on Coxwell and one V(6664), one of the VIIs is 7839(got a pic of it).
MT0603 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I rode 0621 on the 3 to the CCT. When we arrived I noticed two guys (one of which was drunk) where talking *****, then the drunk guy threw a punch, the other guy did not take it well and fought back 5 seconds later the drunk guy said sorry I had a few drinks, then boarded 9785 on the 19S, I'll get to the rest of it after this. I noticed there was lots of posters of that sexual offender, posted up on the doors to the inside of the Terminal. Then I noticed a Mississauga Emergency response unit, it was a Chevrolet Impala had sirens, looked like a Police car with out the Peel Police livery, just the Mississauga Logo and "Emergency Response unit". Then a man in a black uniform, wearing a bnullet proof vest and had Emergency Response patches just under the elbows, walked into the Terminal and entered the Staff area, he came out about 5 minutes later, and walked into the Traffic Controller office at the other end of the Terminal. Then 0621 starts loading so I board it to head back home, as we left the terminal I noticed 9785 just at the lights at Rathburn and City Center drive, surrounded by 3 police cars, then when we pass it I notice that drunk guy, that I mentioned earlier pinned down to one of the cruisers. The guy had stolen a ***** load of batteries, and had a few other things that I could not make out. I also noticed a cop questioning the driver of 9785. That's the end of my wacky special sightings. 0309 was on the 26. 0324 was on the 61.
wil9402 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I went out again and got another shot of 2764, sorry for mixing it up eairler. BTW, 2241 is also out on 506.
R. Flores Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 7425 was on 29 Dufferin. Weird. Click to view Pic.
Orion VIII Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 7425 was on 29 Dufferin. Weird. Click to view Pic. That guy in the grey is thinking "why is that Eglinton bus on a Wilson route?"
wil9402 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 7425 was on 29 Dufferin. Weird. Click to view Pic. 7425 is one of the IIRC 2 buses that has a driver shield installed and it's moving from garage to garage for drivers to try it out, "A.Baracaco" spotted it in on 85A on Thursday.
MT0603 Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 There was a delay at Broadview at around 6 today, while on 5100 I heard over the PA, Attention all TTC Bloor-Danforth riders, there are delays westbound at Broadview due to a Malfunctioning train, TTC response units are at the seen, sorry for any inconveniences caused due to the delays. I heard this when we leaving Runnymede, westbound.
502 Downtowner Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 7425 was on 29 Dufferin. Weird. Click to view Pic. Damn it! I knew somebody would beat me to it! When I wrote it down on my tracker I wrote OMG beside it! Anyway, 7347 was on the 110A. 9408 was on the 29. BTW has anybody seen 9400 or 9402 lately? I have a feeling that they're both at Hillcrest, as I haven't spotted either one since before school started. AV Spottings 2382, 2419 (in a row with 2382), 2433, and 2462 were on the 29. Queensway was flawless. 7425 is one of the IIRC 2 buses that has a driver shield installed and it's moving from garage to garage for drivers to try it out, "A.Baracaco" spotted it in on 85A on Thursday. That means it will be at Queensway soon! I hope it ends up on the 49, I'd pay a double fare to ride it.

I wouldn't even pay half a fare to ride it, I'd just wait for the next bus which would be a D40LF or Orion V.

I can tell you've never been on a TTC D40LF, Orion VIII and I both strongly prefer MT's D40LF's over TTC's. As for the V's, I do like them a lot, but I thought you said you didn't like them when you rode it in our transit-fanning group on the 6 (which at the time was still Birchmount).

Ahh dam! I could've got off the Lawrence bus I was on to check that out! Hope it could somehow end up on the 90 soon.
