Shaun Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I believe it was on Saturday when I saw 6674 on Bay. The bus still has no TTC decal on its exterior. Was it "un wrapped" recently?
6254 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Fishbowls are now more commonly used on the 53E and 39 in the rush hours these days, I don't know if Malvern puts other 7xxx's on other non-accessible routes or not. An off-topic question, is the transit lounge section going to come back soon? The transit lounge is a good place to share something that is not transit related. For example, tropical storm Ernesto is expected to move to the 43N and 78W area, which is about 110km SE of Toronto in the next 120 hours. Midday they're essentially all Orions, during the rush is when the Fishbowls come out and in very rare cases a D901. If I wait at the 53 stop during rush I can get a Fishbowl roughly 35% of the time.

Mike Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Forgot to mention, that today when I was at Hillcrest 9388 was sitting there beside the David Gunn building against the north side of the property. Why on earth would they tow that bus back to Hillcrest? I assume it spent the last year or so parked at Wilson.

They strip the buses of any parts they need at Hillcrest, then officially scrap it or do whatever.
Mike Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 They strip the buses of any parts they need at Hillcrest, then officially scrap it or do whatever. I know that, but why move it to Hillcrest now after it spent a year and a half rusting at Wilson? Couldn't the scrapper pick it up directly from Wilson?
6254 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Could 9388 be stripped for parts being used for rebuilding 6688? When it is done, 9388 was left alone. I know that, but why move it to Hillcrest now after it spent a year and a half rusting at Wilson? Couldn't the scrapper pick it up directly from Wilson?
GM Classic 6247 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 2848 has been involved in an accident near Morningside and Sheppard. 2848 looks alright, the Dodge Caravan that hit it however is probably a write off, the accident didn't look like one that would require an ambulance.
T15111 Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 At Hillcrest, I saw 2427 with its engine removed, either they are fixing it up or it is next in line to be retired. Mike i saw it when i was in hillcrest along with 4 other gm the other gm were painted they looked like they were rebuilt but it was just a paint job. brad
Curtis 7207 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 6745 was being towed north on Bathurst around 4:40 pm at Bathurst and Bloor today. Must have went to Hillcrest. 6160 (rte 129), 6165 (rte 169), 6186 (rte 129), 7837 (rte 25), 7947 (rte 29) have Bell ads. 2245 was on the 36 this afternoon. 2839 has moved to Malvern. It was on the 131E this afternoon. 1070 is unlicensed at Arrow, along with 1069. 1069 was sitting in the back, while 1070 was in the front yard.
502 Downtowner Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 7219 was on the 165 today, although I guess come September 3rd this will be a regular sighting. Some accessibility violations; 6424 on the 123 and 6743 on the 49.

I saw 2848 on 53 in the p.m. rush hour so the bus was obviously undamaged.

I guess they replaced the bumper quickly or that the New Look's bumper was a lot stronger than I thought it would be. Considering how much damage the Caravan sustained, it appears they're made cheaply...

TTCNLFBT Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Wraps: 5356 (Quest for lottery), and 5196-97 (Garnier) were in service today.

Gonna take more than minivan to put a scratch on a fishie.
MARK Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 7503 was on 5 Avenue Rd. interesting this bus has the automatic stop annoucement system install in it. Totally cool. 6723 was on 512 St. Clair, 6726 was on 6 Bay, and 7610 was on 512 St. Clair

stm_5307N Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 As of today 2609 was still on rt.96...........last day of ex-Montrealers? Dave Don't say that! I still need to get pics of them tomorrow!
502 Downtowner Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Dont worry, you will find some, i will be looking too. When is the inspection again? Because if it's not this weekend, then I have a funny feeling that we'll see at least one of the remaining 5 ex-Montrealers again for emergency service, similar to that of 2153.

Speaking of which, 2153 was on rt.39 during the PM-peak earlier today. I'd love to see the ex-montrealers stay on the road too! Dave
