stm_5307N
Yes my friends, get your popcorn ready.. the hybrids have entered Montreal territory. The first sighting has come as of yesterday! One of the hybrids was at Angrignon metro still with the front wrapped in plastic from Novabus! Although I find it strange that it would still have the front in plastic, it could have stopped off at the metro station (to show off) before making its way to CT Lasalle. Anyways, the person that saw it, who's on that other board, said that it was numbered 28-70X..as they couldn't see the last number unfortunatly. At least now we know how they will be numbered! They could be doing training runs probably as early as tomorrow or this weekend!

stm_5307N
More news as it comes... 28-701 was seen last week doing road tests on A-640 in St Eustache! It's most likely at CT Lasalle by now..
Matt Demers
More news as it comes... 28-701 was seen last week doing road tests on A-640 in St Eustache! It's most likely at CT Lasalle by now.. Give it 3-4 days since they seen it. But unfortunately this wasn't posted by a driver but by a newbie. I'm really skeptical ever since they posted sightings of 59-073.. Let it be confirmed by a driver on that forum. IF it even is true, why the hell is it numbered at 701? Why not 501 or 201? I'm really skeptical ever since they posted sightings of 59-073.. Let it be confirmed by a driver on that forum. It's just been confirmed two minutes ago by a La Salle driver on the other forum. IF it even is true, why the hell is it numbered at 701? Why not 501 or 201? Probably because the HEVs after this batch will be assigned numbers in the XX-70X range. Anyways, I'll go have a look around town on Monday after my scan to try and catch one. It's my day off, so why not?
stm_5307N
A Lasalle driver has taken pics of one at CT Lasalle today and yes they are numbered 28-70X.. I don't know why either, but I'd rather they would have been 28-90X personally, but whatever.. It doesn't matter... Anyways, the pics will be up soon from the Lasalle driver.. Can't wait to see! SMS
8 I am going to be fanning in AM rushes for these buses. I am guaranteeing right now Mon, Tues and Weds. PM undecided. Possible great stations to check out: Angrignon, Lionel-Groulx, Atwater, Vendome, and Villa-Maria seem like good bets for AM rush. Did I miss any? Pyerre
I can confirm that Lasalle will receive 8 hybrid buses, numbered from 28-701 to 28-708. I can also confirm that you won't see it on the road for the next few days. Bus drivers are starting to be trained on them next monday.
SMS
Will they leave the garage or will it stay on property at CT LaSalle?

Cogeno
Anyway, do STM's hybrids have the old front end, or the new one?
stm_5307N
Here we go! These are the every first pictures of a STM HEV on the net! There taken by a Lasalle driver about 2 days ago inside Lasalle garage. Here are some of his shots, but I guess his camera wasn't the best on the shots he took.. Unfortunatly no front shots! There are some minor rear differences, like the large side grills at the rear. Also, the seats have changed pattern.

Cogeno
As for the comment: Who wants to bet how long it will be before the first one is seen engulfed in flames? Any thoughts after seeing the first pics of the HEV Small question, are the HEVs only available in the new-style front, or is the old one available, too? I'm guessing if the old one was available, then STO would've gotten it, but correct me if I'm wrong.
stm_5307N
To answer the above question, is does look like the STM's HEV's have come with the old front.. The Lasalle driver that took the pics which I posted yesterday, said that she recalled seeing the same front end on it. On another piece of news, the 8 hybrids will receive full wraps when they enter regular passenger service. So, if you see them in training before they get their wraps, get pics! And for getting pics, I'll be hitting the streets after my scan on Monday.
