A good start considering that new buses are long overdue since the last decade mostly leveraging the multi-year order for SuperLo double deckers.

80 new coach buses is a start especially to try and close the gap between buses that are well beyond their lifecycle and going through refurbishment.

Thankfully it's not the low floor garbage. And no more DD.

Go Transit tried way too hard to push for 75 percent double deckers in the fleet with the large multi-year order. Useful for high volume routes like the 407 series routes or rail replacement service when the seating capacity is needed.

Not thinking that regular coach buses will still be needed to bridge the gap for routes that don't require as much seating capacity.

Especially retiring a large batch of double decker low buses (81xx and 82xx) which were parked during COVID-19 service reductions and then written off as surplus.

Seeing the challenges of being constrained on available bus fleet leading to major service reductions or taking resources off existing routes with multiple options to fill gaps.

New regular coach buses are long overdue at Go Transit.

Somebody told me go is still interested in acquiring double deckers. The unconfirmed source said it is waiting for new cummin engines that are expected to come out in 2027? We shall see.

Go Transit still has an option for 150 SuperLo double decker buses over 5 years if I recall correctly which has not been exercised currently.

The option was given with the original 253 SuperLo double decker order before a few additional buses were added increasing to 267.

The first batch of SuperLo double deckers started in 2016 which is getting close to 10 years. Depending on Go Transit maintenance schedule if they will retire them at a certain point or look into refurbishment to retain them in-service longer.

right now the 8300s are starting to go for refurbishment with 8319, and 8324 being the first 2

Go 249 which was reactivated recently has been fitted with the iconic K5LA horn which go used many years ago. It does seem like 249 might be the only unit with that horn, but we shall see.

Watch it run for like 2 days and then disappear for another 3 years like the Series II cars did 🙄

It's not explicitly stated but is this for just leaving Union Station after the game or for the entire network?  Could someone come into Toronto or start anywhere other than Union Station between 9pm and midnight?

It says "All GO Trains, GO Buses and UP Express", so my educated guess would be that it's for the entire network.

It just recently changed back, Lex Reid a Operator said it was a training unit

It's not really a good thing to name operators.

Not sure where to post this, but I saw on a friends ig story that bus 2480 appears to be retired…? From the pic they took, the bus looked in rough shape, and stripped of parts
