Photo by @marilynntaylor/Twitter taken from the CBC article. Looking at it people appear to be walking onto the platform between the photographer and the train. One can also see that there is a track immediately next to the GO train, which is the CN main line. It's likely that the Metrolinx spokesperson was misinformed about the location. Something that any of us have seen in other situations where there is a disconnect between what is reported and what has actually happened. Dave My apologies, you're absolutely right - it was the south track. I'd misread a report that I'd been given on the incident. In any case, the track that the train was on still has no bearing on the cause or result of the incident. Dan
Doppelkupplung
Anyone here know why GO is moving away from the grey/red nut locking rings on the buses? Most I’ve seen is red pointer flags for when they still require re torquing, as opposed to the red rings.
T3G
Tonight, 2544 was the final ever 20 bus that pulled into Milton station. It was a good service

yrt1000
With the DVP down a lane (or two) for the rest of the summer, does anyone know if the Go bus lane is still open on it to at least bypass a bit of the traffic? If not, it’ll be a rough few months

Must be in decent condition if newer units have been axed already. Thanks for the spot. I suppose that’s the last one you’ll find in the old livery now.

drevil0208
Someone should message them with the standard kijiji questions. Is this still available? I’ll pay you half what you are asking but I have cash today! I’ll trade you for a late 90s Nokia flip phone!

I haven’t heard about anyone seeing below 27, I certainly haven’t seen anything lower. I was quite amused to see it pull up as my bus early this morning after all this discussion though... I miss the old 12 speeds....

There is a City department that specializes in dealing with large events such as conventions like this. In this case, because of how the members are being housed, they likely went to GO and warned them - and then GO made the decision to run the additional trains. No different than the World Youth Day convention in 2002. There was a LOT of additional service that was run to various locations to deal with the crowds - even though there frequently were "only" 30 to 50 thousand people at a single event.
