dj.surf.lfs
Metrolinx is proposing a 3% fare increase for all trips currently more than $5.65. Also, new fare zones will be created for Dixie and Renforth Transitway stations - looks like we'll see GO buses on the Mississauga Transitway very soon. Wasn't there another accident with a DD a month or so ago at the same location? What's the deal with that terminal? Perhaps GO needs to rethink allowing DD's in there! Transit 20
yep 8334 did that on the other side of the terminal but this was the worst crash yet nobody was hurt that last time.
drum118
Will be surprise to see any buses use Renforth Terminal before Nov. No elevators install nor is the station ready for them. Getting ready to pour the floor slab for the main entrance as well the station driveway. Most of the curbs have been pour with section still missing for the rest of the ramps and driveway. Will be pave closer to the opening. No off ramp from Eglinton to the terminal as yet and the eastbound has been built, but still needs a lot of work. The concrete has been pour for the east turn around and layover bays. All kinds of handrail to be install along the edges of the station and the Transitway.

newflyerinvero
At about 7:30pm, a 6-pack GO train was deadheading eastbound through Mimico station on Track 4 at a good speed. Wonder what the case is as it wasn't Friday and even then, the first Falls train doesn't even run on Thursdays but on Friday evenings. Any information? Token Dispenser
why do most of the DDS's have consistent damage to the metal plate sitting under neath the entrance door? I've seen a bus with it completely ripped off. is it just drivers not being aware how low they are?
leylandvictory2
some of the curbs are higher than the others. I remember an Orion 7 on the curbs at Don Mills Station and Pape.

If Alexander Dennis builds their buses like the North American manufacturers do - a bit of a leap of faith, I admit - than that plate and the one on the underside of the ramp is sacrificial and designed to be easily replaced precisely because of this kind of situation. Shaun
There was a D4500 this morning on the 401 heading east at Yonge street blowing white smoke out of the windows. Does the fire suppression system only spray retardant in the engine compartment?

The last Richmond Hill train exits the west end of the TMC around that time to head to Union. That's probably what you saw.
drum118
According to wiki, GO doesn't have a loco 558 on the roster. At this time, its is in the paint shop at Minico as of July 21. Its is in the current colors at this time with the GO logo freshly painted. Is the wiki outdated??

Try the Current locomotive roster; the F59PH engines are the first row of the chart.
Transit geek
Shouldn't the retirement of F59PHs be held off till the arrival of their replacements, the MP54ACs? Or else GO might be in for a serious shortage of locos to pull its trains - especially with the increased service along the Stouffville line? The few remaining units were overhauled not that long ago, and even had new HEP generators installed. I'm not certain if they'll hang around after the MP54ACs are delivered, but they certainly won't be retired before then.
