They will replace 40-49 and undoubtedly will be Gilligs. Is this for sure that this is for Kalihi Side or is this some made up guess?????????????????????????? I'm sure Pearl City is stealing and scored these buses for their side because 33-34 retired. SHAME ON YOU PEARL CITY BUS FACILITY WE SHOULD BE GETTING NEW 29 FOOTERS FOR KALIHI SINCE OUR 40 SERIES OUR OLDER THAN OPUS.. WHY THE OPUSES SO DANG EARLY??????????????? It’s a guess based upon the Kalihi buses (40-49) being 3 years older than the Pearl City Optimas and Pearl City already receiving 20-23.

The Opus is a medium-duty bus after all. Compared to the typical heavy-duty Gilligs, New Flyers, and what-not, those coaches should have a life expectancy of about 10 - 12 years or more. It's a shame that 33 retired since that one was my favorite.

Hey! No need to be a douche bag. Editors do what they can. Editing the wiki is no simple task that can be done in the flash of a second. Editors also have a life outside of the CPTDB wiki and often go to work or school for at least 7 hours a day. I am terribly sorry if my busy schedule is preventing me from editing the wiki to your preferences. I have asked @Alika.valdez1234 to PM me all of the info that need to be edited on the TheBus wiki page. Once he does so, I will be able to edit the wiki (either tomorrow, Sunday, Monday or next Friday and onwards) If you would like, feel free to PM me all of the information you would like me to add or edit. This goes to anyone here as I do not often check this tread.

I’m referring to TheBus Wikipedia page, which once had a detailed list of active and retired buses until the editors decided to eliminate it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TheBus_(Honolulu)

Alika.valdez1234
I heard that Robert's Hawaii has a batch of 60 foot BYD electric bus for only a few weeks then they will turn them over to city (probably to OTS) after using them on some special event going on during this week. And when I first saw them I was so excited surprised they were running now. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Had a high school friend - who's an automotive fan - break the news to me about this, as he saw those get unloaded from the Nimitz pier a few days ago. With this being another BYD product (the K11), this one is not making me all that happy about the demo. Instead, it's giving me some raised eyebrows on how well it's going to perform here. Given all of BYD's struggles to get any project off the ground, I hope that OTS will use some common sense and ensure that they order buses that will actually see in service time. Personally based on track record I feel that the New Flyer XE60's and XE40's would be a great fit for the fleet.

Williamv
Does anyone know when the first Gillig electric buses will be delivered? I heard 3 this year and 20 next year (replacing the remaining 300s), but I have also seen other numbers. What routes will they serve? What will the fleet numbers be (970 and up?). You would think OTS or the city would be publicizing these deliveries as a major development for bus riders, which is what would happen in most cities. But all we get here is mystery. It's at the Docks of LA right now 16 hours ago. But what I'm still trying to figure out is where was the original bus 711 sold to after being auctioned off to to another transit agency????
