General Transit Sightings

well 912 was out as a spare since TW didn't have enough buses to be used.

Are you sure it was used as a spare or is that just a guess? 912 shouldn't be on the active roster therefore it wouldn't make any sense as to how it could show up on a route. I find it kinda to believe they would use 912 as a filler for service during a shortage. I seen 912 the other day heading back to the garage probably after a charter. I also saw a yellow classic tonight heading back to the garage and 613 on the 1C.

On tues or wednesday I spotted an older D40LF on the back of a transport truck heading hamilton bound on fairview street in burlington. It was passing mapleview mall but have no clue where it was going. It had nearly the same livery as burlington transit but the stripes weere forest green and yellow. It had no logos or fleet numbers, white rims and the same seats as burlington transit uses. Also had a rear destination sign.

Someone at the TTS Meeting mentioned one of the Austrailian visitor was down at Windsor saw 912 in service! So, it's no BS!

Some Burlington updates:

For the time being, I will concentrate on either accessibility violations or the opposite.

Blue Bird 7028-06 on the 12's HF runs. This bus, each time it shifted to the next gear, was jerking quite noticably.

Funny thing is that it was actually a replacement to 7036 that morning. As I got off at Burlington GO, apparently, a request was made for a change off, possibly 7030-06 was going to be the replacement of 7028, for the replacement of 7036. ;)

Invero 7021-03 was a PM rush-hour bus on the 1;

Funny how a Blue Bird can find itself on a LF runs beyond the 4/5. First, it was the 12, then 7027-06 appears on the 2/3. :)

Invero 7020-03 was the 11/15's HF bus, well, on the HF runs, anyways.

Orion V 7069-91 was an AV on the 10 during PM rush.

And finally, Invero 7009-03 was on the 8 all day Thursday.

Yep, it'd been on the 1 for the whole day as I had seen it in the 1-East bay at Burlington GO station at 3:15pm.

Other then the HF/LF overruns I had posted about yesterday, I'll complete the rest:

Classic 7008-84, first found on the Corpus Christi/Millcroft PM school special, then started service as a 10-East at 3:30pm.

Other 10's were 7043-08 and Orion V 7063-90 and Classic 7013-83 as rush-hour extra bus.

62's included Classic 7007-85 and Blue Bird 7029-06 whereas 61 had Classic 7004-85.

Classic 7005 or 7006 was a PM rush-hour bus on the 2/3 along with Classic 7002-85, which initially was the Notre Dame/MM Robinson PM school special. Orion V 7062-90 was the all-day HF bus.

Classic 7055-87 was a 3/2 PM rush-hour bus with Orion V 7078-94.

Others that I can remember include:

7022-03 on the 12;

7067-91 on the 15/11;

7035, 7044 and 7017 were the other LF's on the 1 during the day.

7080-94 was on the 6, which has an odd-looking driver-side new vent part way at the bottom. It's white, which makes me believe that it may have been in an accident of some kind.

7012-83 was a rush-hour extra on the 8.

That's how the 12 works in the morning. One of the runs does the 6:15am trip on the 12 then does a school special at 7:30am, then goes back to the garage. The regular rt 12 starts at 7:15 so that shift gets basically whatever's left at the garage, and the pickings at that time can be pretty slim.

7080-94 was rear ended last month. The rear panel couldn't be salvaged so they had to order a new panel from orion.

Also, 7061-90 is back from SN Diesel. 7077-94 is still away, possibly being refurbished.

Thank you for clarifying about 7077. Reason being is yesterday I had assumed that it had its driver-side ad for Meineke Car Care ad removed. So, by process of elimination, the bus that I had seen was 7079 without its Golf Course Super Side ad.

Yeah I guess I should have mentioned that 7079 lost the super side ad for the golf club. 7066 and 7080 still carry them though.

It appears as if Orion V 7077-94 has returned from MTB, refurbished. I believe that it was doing the Corpus Christi pm School Special. I felt that it was 7077, based on the difference of engine compared to the 91's and that there weren't any ads on its driver-side.

I don't know what to tell you, 7077-94 is still away (it's at Ontario Truck Collision, not MTB) and probably wont be back till the end of the month. The only adless orions in the new colour are 7061-90 and 7067-91.

Since that BT is in the midst of receiving their rest of their 09's (when they do come now is anyone's guess), but for now, I'll list what buses were where:

1: 7018, 7033, 7043, 7062, (rush-hour) 7022 (rush-hour, on HF runs)

2/3: 7079, 7044, 7078, rush-hour), 7011 (rush-hour)

3/2: 7034, 7037 (on all-day HF runs), 7003 (rush-hour) & 7004 (rush-hour)

4/5: 7027 (first time in many months), 7028, 7032

6: 7069 (which was really late around hte noon hour during its trips, but was only 5 minutes down by 2:15pm), & 7030.

8: 7068 (rush-hour)

10: 7009, 7039, & 7040, 7065 (rush-hour), 7017 (rush-hour).

11/15: 7066

15/11: 7035

12: 7063, 7041.
