newflyerinvero
Also, I THOUGHT I heard over the radio that bus 47 was being changed off for bus 25 around 2pm...is it possible they put the '82 fishbowl on the 4/5??? Keep in mind that those sightings were from Friday. The 82 fishie may have been on that route until Invero 7025-03, which I had seen at around 2-2:30pm that afternoon. The fishbowl which was used yesterday for the charter wasn't on any other regular service before hand.
BT Invero
GRT put 8509 on the 17 (a low floor route) today. There is a very noticeable black area at the bottom of the back doors on this bus...maybe the white paint has peeled off, revealing the original black color. That bus has definitely seen better days. They also had 9600 on the 10 and 9613 on the 12/27. There is a definite difference in how HSR and GRT's 96 C40LFs run...the GRT ones sound much healthier, as they don't roar like a truck when they accelerate, and the ride quality is better. newflyerinvero
The 2006 London Transit Christmas bus is out today on 2 Dundas . Nice pic, Luke. Anyways, here are my sightings, from two days...first, from yesterday: Burlington Transit: (Monday, December 18th) Orion V 7067-91 on the 11/15 low floor trips. Orion V 7077-94 and 7021-03 on the 15/11, regular trips. Orion V 7065-91 (LF), 7020-03, 7009-03 were the mid-day buses, while 7078-94, 7063-90 were the rush-hour add ons on the 1/10 Classic 7011-83 was on the PM rush for the 13. And yes, just two days after the TTS Charter, the Orion I (7042-81), is alive!!! It was on the GO Specials. The 5:45pm departure on the 62 had hte Orion I...and I was waiting for that trip, too . Rode it and it was a pretty smooth ride, too. It's been a long while since I've ridden that bus and I do believe that it'll be around for another 2 years or so. Both GM New Looks, 7026-78 and 7047-82 were on the GO Specials, too. Oakville Transit: Nothing too unusual, but I did see, between 4 and 5pm: 883 on the 16-Speers to the Oakville GO...I rode it. While at Oakville GO, saw 8540 at the 28 bay for the 4:25pm bus meet. 883 was about to depart as the 19. At 4:55pm, I rode 871 on the 15-Bridge. Also did see 884 being on the 17-Kerr/Eastlake. That's 4 Orion I's within an hour. Sad to see that another 3 out of the 5 that are left will go because of the new D40LFR's which have been delievered. I'll say that in my experiences, all of these Orion I's are still riding smooth and are too early to be gone to retire. Maybe Jan or someone else from Oakville may say differently, but I'll be disappointed to see them go. Today's Burlington sightings: Inveros 7020-03, 7022-03, 7009-03 (?) as well as D40LF were the regular low floor trips. Orion V's 7069-91 was the mid-day HF. The only rush-hour bus I saw on the 1/10 today was Orion V 7067-91. The 2/3 had I think 7024-03 while the 3/2 had Orion V 7068-91 on the LF trips. Finally, a Blue Bird on the 15/11's LF trips while the 11/15's HF trips had Classic 7002-85. I didn't get a clear look at it as it was going by pretty fast. It could've also had been either 7004-85 or 7007-85.

newflyerinvero
Just some notes from the past couple of days. Back on Wednesday, was surprised to see, on back to back trips in Hamilton, a C40LF and a D40LF during the afternoon rush hour. Only 8803 was trailing those two. Yesterday (Thursday), noticed that there was one Blue Bird in service, from what I"ve seen anyways. It was 7031-06. This was the first time in many weeks for a Blue Bird to be put on the 13. An Invero 7025-03 (rolling Blueberry) was on the 4/5. Two LF trips I had noticed were taking over yesterday. Classic 7015-83 on the 11/15's, while Classic 7005-85 was on the 1/10's. newflyerinvero
Just a few notes from yesterday's sightings: There were a couple of Orion V's on the 2/3 and the 3/2's low floor trips. The 2/3's had 7079-94 while the 3/2's had 7069-91. 2/3's HF trip was V 7062-90. The other LF trip which was taken over by a HF bus was the 9:45am trip on the 1-West. Classic 7014-83. Funny thing about that was a D40LF, possibly 7033-06, was the 1-West. Both fishies were out, as the 82 bowl 7047-82 on the 12 which lasted until 10:45pm last night while the 78 bowl was on the 8 in the morning rush, but was soon replaced by Classic 7007-85. The 78 bowl actually, if it were to have continued past 9:45pm, would've lasted through the day, ending at 6:15pm.

Root Admin ORION Posted December 29, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 29, 2006 Burlington Transit Orion V #9061 clipped Oakville Transit Orion VI #9906 at Hopedale Mall, this morning... Damage to both buses wasn't too too serious, but they will be off the road for repair. Funny, #9906 was involved in the exact same type of accident at the Oakville GO Station about 2 years ago with Orion V #922. The Burlington Bus was pulling out of its bus bay at Hopedale Mall, and the rear doors hit the left rear corner of #9906... Not surprised about it, since it can easily happen... newflyerinvero
The low floor trips which were occupied by highfloors were on the following trips: From the 1/10...Classic 7055-87 The 3/2 had Orion V 7066-91 Meanwhile, Invero 7021-03 was on a rush-hour add on, which is usually a HF. Lastly, Invero 7024-03 was on the 3/2 rush-hour add on. Few sightings for Oakville: 4105 on the 12 894 on the 16 An Orion I, possibly 881 on the 15 901 on the 30-Crosstown Lastly, rode 921 on the 14 out of Hopedale at 4:20 this afternoon. BT Invero
Well, if you want to catch the D40LFR in Oakville, you might want to come by on weekdays or Sunday as they are quick buses due to tight schedule. Do they always run the D40LFRs on Sundays, or is it sometimes only Blue Birds?
Root Admin ORION Posted December 30, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 30, 2006 Do they always run the D40LFRs on Sundays, or could I end up getting nothing but Blue Birds? Mostly on Sundays..yes... if not, then it would be a D40LF... Dont count on this every Sunday though....
BT Invero
Mostly on Sundays..yes... if not, then it would be a D40LF... Dont count on this every Sunday though.... And they would probably only put it on the 14 and 24, right? The 19 and 28 probably wouldn't have enough ridership on Sundays to warrant using a 40' bus... Orion VIII
There was a VII on Oakville's 14 last night.

The 19 and 28 probably wouldn't have enough ridership on Sundays to warrant using a 40' bus... Nope, it's random depending on the driver's schedule. Uh, think again! The 28 have good amount of riders, while the 19 do get handful of riders. Once all 4 fixed routes ran, the Zone buses are now close to dead. They did ran Ultra LF on their first day of fixed route, it didn't work as they thought. There was a VII on Oakville's 14 last night. Yeah, that was last night weeknights. It's common to see them. Root Admin ORION Posted December 30, 2006 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 30, 2006 Well, it's going to be a hassle to convert to smaller bus at night. What time did you saw it? Very rare to see a Blue Bird on route 14 or route 24. It has happened before though... I got a picture of a Zone Bus on route 14 Lakeshore West, about 2 years ago when were majorly short on buses, having to use the zone buses for rush-hour. Orion VIII
Well, it's going to be a hassle to convert to smaller bus at night. What time did you saw it? About 8:30. It was sitting in a plaza on the north side of Lakeshore, facing south.
