Guess what I saw yesterday: I saw the one and only newflyerinvero wandering around Tim Hortons on Cross Ave around 4:30pm. (I was the one waving at you in 901 :) )

And today in Hamilton I saw 8711, 8714, 8803, 8806 and 8809 all on the 51 University today. Not bad for a sighting eh?

I KNEW that I heard a horn honking. I was just verifying the V which was going to be the 110 at 4:30pm. I actually was on D40LFR 8103 on the 15 heading to the GO, but got off just after the first lights on Cross Ave to go to Tim's.

I saw 883 out there, but wasn't sure of the route it was on.

Nothing really spectacular as far as buses being on specific routes. Your mix of D40LFR's, Orion VII's and VI's. Some V's there, too. D40HF's. That's the norm in Oakville during rush-hour.

I was trying to get some variety in Oakville rides, but was stuck with 7102 on the 32 (around 3:30pm), transferred to 15-Bridge with 8103 and completed things with the 14 out of O-GO with D40LFR 8106. Although, being at 5:05pm, I saw a VII as the 14 (4107), ten minutes earlier. I guess I didn't pay attention when it left. :) I waanted to get it, though. Guess not.

Because of a snafu with the "Edit" function (it didn't work at all), I'm forced to put up another post with the Burlington sightings.

Now, I'm going to be needing some help basically with some of the D40LF's to be specific. There was a blank D40LF on the 10 at around 3:30 going to the Appleby GO Station. Didn't see any ads on it, so perhaps it could've been one that had one removed. I think it was 7038-07.

There was a D40LF on the 15/11, probably as 7035-06 with the yellow Koodoo ad (yes, this is meant for the ads thread, but more so for sightings for varification).

However, those two D40LF's alone might not make sense. It just goes to show you that even with the minocular, the fleet numbers are just too small, period.

As far as what I know I've seen, based on farmilarity...

1: D40LF 7036-07 and Orion V 7080-94 (rh)

4/5: Two Blue Birds, 7027-06, 7032-06 and two D40LF's, 7034-06 and 7037-07. The latter, 7037-07, seeing it heading west along Long Moor Drive passing through Appleby at 3:30pm, there wasn't a clearly defined gear-shift from 1st to 2nd gear.

8: Fishbowl sighting: 7047-82 as a rush-hour add on for the PM rush.

10: Invero 7023-03, D40LF 7038-07 (?) along with rush-hour assignments going to Orion V 7077-94 as an AV and Orion V 7068-91 in a regularly scheduled HF rush-hour run.

11/15: Orion V 7066-91 (AV) and Classic 7004-85.

15/11: Classic 7006-86.

62: Blue Birds 7028-06, 7031-06, along with Classic 7012-83, which had to be replaced. It was seen going OOS just leaving Appleby GO at 5:45pm last night. Additionally, Classic 7007-85 was doing 62 assignments.

I was the 110 at 4:30 (in 901). 883 was on a mix of the 200, the 28 and the 15 on Thursday.

Oh, BTW If you're a fan of 883 (Chris W) you might want to get your rides on it because it could possibly be retired by the end of March along with 892 and 895. (It's not offical, but it's from a reliable source.)

I thought 883 was going to be refurbed this summer and put back into service by the time the new grid system was implemented. Some OT drivers are giving me false hope. SAVE 883!!!!!!!!!

It was the original plan for 883 and possibly even 881 to stay around for September but as of now, it's not looking too promising for them. We might even lose all the 89's and even 901 is threatened. No one will know until all of the scheduling, timing, planning etc. for September is finalized. Once everything is finalized the higherups can determine how many buses will be retired. I personally think we should keep the 89's and scrap the 95's because the 95's are in horrible shape whereas the 89's appear to be in decent shape.

Anyway, 954 is out today (Saturday), this is very rare to see.

I agree. Though the Stop Request ding on the 95s has a second beep reminiscent of the Wii Sports selection chime. Correct me if i'm wrong, but am I the only one to notice this beep? Dave, you were driving 951 when we met at Hopedale, albeit briefly, and did you notice the chime? One of my fanning trips, I'm going to find 883. What does it usually run on? And what do you usually run on?

No I can't say that I noticed the chime ringing twice. 883 is hit and miss. It tends to go out on the 23 (Bronte GO) and the 102 (Clarkson GO) quite a bit but the odd time it's out of Oakville GO. The problem with Oakville is the bus doesn't stay on the same route the entire shift. As for me, well I'm all over the place, usually out of Oakville GO.

Here's a sighting.

While waiting for the westbound Route 12 on Upper Middle @ William O'Connell, across from Tansley Woods, the eastbound 12..............er an Oakville Transit D40LF, one of the 2005's, was seen heading eastbound at 9:50am. It had me thinking whether or not if it was going to be the LF bus on the 12 for the day. (obviously not). I think it was a Test Bus driven by a new full time driver??

That's what I heard. It did seem weird to see Oakville Transit 5105 coming out of the BT Garage. I was waiting for the Route 8 when I saw it.

Here's what else I saw:

1: 7080-94, 7077-94, 7006-86, 7063-90, 7009-03, 7018-03, 7035-06

2: 7069-91, 7013-83

4: 7045-08

6: 7065-91

8: 7012-83, 7011-83, 7068-91

10: 7054-87, 7037-07

11/15: 7067-91, 7079-94, 7031-06 (Why?)

12: 7005-85

61: 7062-90

62: 7066-91

7047-82 apparently did the 8 in the morning. That is what I saw in BT Land

7067-91 was the 15/11.

As far as that BB, well, occassionally it'd do an 11/15 or 15/11. Who knows.

You did see 7062? by chance, what were the ads like on it? Could you put up a post in the 'ads' thread?

Well, I got to drive 895 this afternoon :) . I might have been the last one to get to drive it in service. Tuesday is it's last official day but if it's not needed it could be pulled off the road early.

HSR C40LF #0215, was seen at 4:45pm, idling at the Burlington Bus Terminal, with the rear sign box displaying, "MOUNTAIN GARAGE". Assuming that the bus was OOS, I didn't bother looking at the side nor the front signs. Perhaps there was something wrong with the bus, but I also knew that it was scheduled to depert at 5pm as the next 11-Parkdale to Valley Park Loop.

It was probably just a glitch in the rear sign.

It was an older driver. I know because my friend, who I had just met at the stop on Harvester waiting for the Route 8, and I saw 5104 heading out of the garage.

So which one was it? 5104 or 5105, because it was mentioned earlier that it was 5105...

Various sightings, including an AV on the 11/15 this afternoon, occupied by Orion V 7067-91.

As far as yesterday was concerned, there was at least a couple of AV's or at least, lowfloors on HF runs.

Orion V 7066-91 AV on the 6

Orion V 7065-91 was out all day on the 10. That route is scheduled to have LFs during the mid-day.

Invero 7018-03 on the 1 on a rush-hour assignment.

The fishbowl was seen heading northbound on Walkers Line, just north of Upper Middle at around 10:30 this morning. I don't think that it was doing the 15/11 LF runs for those routes. But interesting, nevertheless.

Orion V 7080-94 was seen going south at the same time, going so slow. At first I was thinking that something may be wrong with it. Nope...it was just the driver going at 5 k an hour as he was ahead by a minute or two. That V....btw was an AV.

As well, Orion V 7079-94 was on the 12's LF runs. It sounded kinda clunky this morning as it was moving at any speed, there was a constant bumping or thumping. I wasn't sure about that. Just didn't feel ordinary to me.

Some evening observations...

I had noticed that Blue Birds 7027, 7031 and potentially 7028 were all on the 4/5. However, there was at one point, at 7pm tonight, as seen at Appleby and Fairview, D40LF 7039-07 ws seen doing a 10 as Blue Bird 7029-06 took over for 39'a vacantcy from the 4/5. Then at 8:30 this evening, 7029-06 was apparently replaced probably around Rio Can Centre for Blue Bird 7032-06.

The fishbowl found itself doing 61 service along with Orion V 7068-91.

Classics 7004-85 and 7002-85 were doing 62 assignments.

Strange sighting from Monday. Apparently, Blue Bird 7032-06 may have been on the 1's rush-hour PM runs, well, one of them at least. Though it had left A-GO way late, it zoomed by the packed shelter at Fairview & Appleby. Luckily the next bus (which I was on the 1, too), was a 40 FOOT bus... :) D40LF, too...7039-07.

Today, while on the 12 (7065-91), I talked to the driver who drove 7032-06 on the 1. Apparently, it got packed before it left Appleby GO. Luckily he changed off to another bus later that night.

Oakville Transit Orion VI #9910 had an extended stay at Lakeside Plaza while trying to resume work on the 14-Lakeshore West between 4:35/4:50pm this afternoon.

I first saw it when a 95 D40LF approached and got behind it. That 95, believed to have been 952, sped off toward Oakville at 4:45pm. At close to 5pm, a D40LFR, presumably being the next 14 heading eastbound, may have been the next as at the same time, 9910, as it started, a buzzing sound which probably would only be on at first start up kept going.

I wasn't sure what else was wrong with this bus.

Any clarification, Jan?
