Recommended Posts

I believe if you go to web.archive.org & search OC transpo you'll find old routes from 10 years ago... if you're looking for somthing older than that look on the OC transpo fanclub on yahoo groups or i'm sure somebody on the board has something all you'd have to do is ask

If somebody has the old 2009 Service Plan, the North-South LRT Alternate Alignment and the 2009 O-Train Transit Connections (and other pictures of the old City of Ottawa LRT website), could you please post them here?

Thank you very much in advance!

110 Rehab Centre on Ring Road - Billings Brigde

120 St.Luarent - Don't remember

121 Don't know, kinda forgot

356 Renumbered to 156

Having dates when these changes happened would be helpful rather than just a list of random route changes, then you can actually build up a pattern of how the changes and route structure evolved over time.

Checking for more changes:

http://web.archive.org/web/19970421182913/...po/springf.html

Some 118 trips were serving Carleton U until the late 90's as was the 19

Route 196 was a former peak route in Riverside South until I beleive 2003-04 when it was changed to an all-day local route, the 145

The 189 running from Lebreton to Canada Post was remove in 2003-04, likely due to the O-Train.

Notice that the express zone was much closer to downtown in the late 90's.

Here is a long list of old maps via websearch.org. This has taken in the oldest archive available (1997). I'm posting it, since it can be slow at times with clicking 4-5 links, you will have only one link

No problem and I can add the page to the schedules for existing routes at that time. Schedule were effective from April to June 1997 and you can notice several things

The 95 was running only every 15 minutes on Sundays, the 97 only every 30 minutes on Sundays.

The Transitway routes ended at 1 AM each day.

Main Airport service was from the 96 although the 97 served the Airport on evenings only from Monday to Saturday and all day Sunday

Two Barrhaven regular routes ended at Bayshore, the other local Barrhaven routes ended at Baseline where the 95 ended

Direct service to Carlingwood from downtown were well outside mall hours during weekends.

The 176 was running only 6 days a week, the 116 only peak periods

I remember back in 1991, the 96 would go to airport before the 97 was invented. Riverside to heron to Billings. Also remember buses would get off at Riverside station (Pleasant park was not open yet) down Riverside to Bank and then Billings Bridge.

112 was doing portions of the current 84 and 111 east of Billings Bridge (until late 90's) hurdman(peak)st.laurent nonpeak to billings via st.laurent elmvale stlaurent to ryder walkley, heathernington walkley to transitway to billings.

132 was replaced by the 130 and 131 in Orleans in 2001 or 2002

11 and 19 was serving Overbrook and Vanier from Bank Street (until the late 90's) as peak periods runs.

13 was the current 3X (until the late 90's) 13 was also a red peak period and if memory serves me it had slight variations to the run... i think it didn't serve train like the 3 did.

56 I believe was doing portions of Nepean Centre (untils late 90's)

28 was doing Chapel Hill South and Blackburn Hamlet. (until 2006)

Route 96 was starting at CArlingwood before being replaced in part by the 87 in the late 90's. 96 originally ran airport to bayshore/kanata and they cancelled it replaced it with the current routing of the 97 and the 87 only went thru uplands to riverside to billings to hurdman... downtown peak... i believe there was a big stink and they later extended the 87 all the way to carlingwood

Route 97 was shorten to Bayshore after the revamping of the 96 in 2004-05 97 was introduced to replace the 96 in the mid 90's the 87 and 97 was created to serve the areas that the 96 did

Routes 144 and 145 were serving Greenboro before being replaced by the 84 in 2003-04

For a while both 96 and 97 served the airport. IIRC the 97 was "it" from fall 1995, after the Southeast Transitway opened to South Keys (Pleasant Park and Greenboro opened in 1996). The 96 morphed into the 87, serving the Riverside Park/Uplands area that the old 96 (abolished) used to mosey around, then to South Keys until Greenboro opened, when it was extended there. The 147 took over CFB Ottawa South (Uplands).

Forgot to mention:

183 in 2002 ran from Fallowfeild to Promenade of Richmond.

183 came back in existence in 2007 which now runs from Terry Fox to the Scotiabank Centre on Huntmar Road.

I have the 183 timetable from 2002, and I'll take a picture of it to show the difference.

Also their was a 891 (Still have the timetable from 2000) and I don't belive it still exists, as I don't ride any 800's Route.

783 was a connector route for 283, but now 283 covers what 783 did. It ran from Promanade of Richmond to Munster Hamlet, which is why I think 183 got canceled by another route in 2002 (I think?)

Lol, this is confusing because 283 did what 183 did but doesn't go by Fallowfeild and used the 416 after exiting Queenway Station, and covers more land and now does what 783 does including 183 and covers more places without using Fallowfeild Road from Woodoffe to Strandherd.

Yeah I wanted to add the 300s, 200s and 800s but the links were not working for the most part. Also, was unable to have the route 95 map that ended at Baseline at that time.

Did or did not 95 used to end at Blair, before Place D'orleans was made? Because somehow in my memory, I feel that the 95's used to begin/end at Blair with the 2's. I miss the Ikarus. :P

It's too bad archive.org doesn't seem to work with STO. I wanted to see where the 92 went. (and possibly any of the other 90s routes). I know on Curé-Roy, I see a 90 covered up on the signs, and pretty much all the signs in downtown Buckingham have a 92 covered up. If you go down to du Progrés in Angers, you can see 91 and 93 covered up. go down to the 148, and you can see 97 covered up.

You are correct, some trips on route 95 did finish at Blair station before the actual Place d'Orleans station was built.

i think the 95 served Orleans every half hour, and the 95 ended at St.Laurent thats why there is a turning ramp at the eastern side of tunnel right before the up ramp to the upper level. You had either 95 St.Laurent 95 Blair and The 95 Orleans.
