Just a little thing I’ve been thinking about... next year, do you think the new buses will be numbered 40-XXX or do you think the STM should go back to 20-XXX since it’s 2020?

I think it will be numbered 40-XXX for consistency. The STM already went through 22-XXX to 25-XXX twice and we'll repeat 26-XXX and onward a second time (although it would of been nice if the 2001 buses were 1-XXX, 2010 buses as 10-XXX, etc. so that the buses follow the year number)!

Monday: 31-197 was parked at CT Saint-Laurent.

Today: 24-268 was on the 201.

24-260 has been fixed from its side collision this past winter. Brand new panels from the middle to the rear on its left side. It was on the 41 this morning.

@Gerbil it has no more mirrors and the fact that corner of the garage is where they store buses they have retired or to be shunted. 22-329 was parked in that very spot months ago also without mirrors and that bus got retired too.

The STM mentioned somewhere that the 2020 buses are the 40 series. I can't remember where I read it, it is either in one of the newspaper articles or one of the QA periods of the Conseil d'administration meetings.

As for 24-300... perhaps it is too complicated to repair. However, does the STM take off parts from active buses when they are in for a lengthy repair and are having a parts shortage? Also, the bus seems to still have its iBus equipments, so I'd rather wait before announcing its death.

My opinion on this thread is that we wait until next year before we make a decision about the 24 series: they're not even 16 years old at the moment.

Yes they do take parts off buses waiting for repairs, I see it all the time at Anjou.

Yesterday:

  • I took AN 27-514 on the 90-E at 7:09 (SN extra 90-05). This is the first time this run hasn't had a front ramp bus, as far as I've noticed. It was an accessibility violation (not sure if Stinson usually follows that).

Today:

  • I took 26-031 on the 90-W at 16:56. It has an electronic bell. @West Island Transit Fan, it's a FR bus not an AN bus. It has the bumper and FR sticker.

On Thursday night (July 18) I saw an unmarked LFSe coming down Guy. It turned onto De Maisoneuve before heading south down St-Mathieu.

I took a quick phone video. Apologies for the lens flare, I tried to clean the lens, but it didn't work.

The destination sign is set to Special with a different typeface than STM's usual. Runbox 90. Suburban seat layout, but rear door equipped.

St. Laurent's 28-044 and 38-041 were parked outside Frontenac along with partially burned 26-055. 38-041 rear numbers are like 38-033 in the Arial font.

38-017 had an accident that wrecked up until the front wheel at least. It has no Frontenac bumper.

24-237 is sitting outside Legendre with no farebox no iBus console nor a drivers side mirror. It still has the black farebox pad though.

Mont Royal's 27-020 is still parked outside Legendre.

Legendre's 24-269 was on the 71 while their 24-270 and 24-274 on the 211.

Legendre’s 29-858 was on the 80 today

38-017 seen parked at CT Frontenac. It seems like it was involved in a terrible accident with a part of its front door gone, it’s windshield gone and it’s front bumper damaged.

33-810 was seen at... CT LaSalle??? What is an artic doing there? (Sorry for quality of pics)

I wanna say it's there for repairs but I don't think LaSalle mechanics are trained on artics so I dunno. Interesting sighting.

38-097, 29-806, and 29-828 returned after an absence of 6, 8, and 12 months respectively.

I drove route 621 just after 12 noon with 21529. Summer school extra! The last time I drove this route in summer, they allowed me to drive a Nova LFS Artic. I asked to take one out but they said to merely use a conventional vehicle.
