Today's Sightings

Recommended Posts

29-060 was on the 80 this evening. Looks like the STM might not run artics for the time being with the low ridership numbers.

In regards to the planibuses, I highly doubt the STM would modify the timetables. They would need to get the Union's approval, have all drivers go through the selection process again (takes almost 2 months to get them all done). The modifications to the 747 are easier as they are all given to spare board and overtime. There are no assigned drivers to them. They are built the day before by the computer. It will result in less buses need for the 747 and the buses will be dispatched elsewhere in mean time, but if the COVID-19 situation ends before the end of the booking, the 747 can return back to normal in the time of a few keystrokes.

I saw the following at Fairview between 16:15 and 17:15 (I was alone and in my car)...

  • LS 30-022 on the 200 then 208.
  • LS 30-023 arriving right after 30-022 as the 216 and leaving on the 204.
  • 28-101 on the 207. It still has the Vapor doors.
  • AN 39-078 on the 205 then 217.
  • AN 39-072 on the 200.
  • 37-002 and 38-033 running back to back on the 470-E.
  • 38-061 arriving signed as the 164.

The flip side to the argument is that less buses equals more people on the bus. Not the best idea when everyone should be actively pursuing social distancing.

Another important point is that there is a ''listes" (board period) that needs to be respected. We cannot drop everything and run a Sunday schedule 7 days a week.

Suppose there are nurses that depend on getting to their hospitals via transit. We must continue to serve these vitally important people!!

It seems like the STM will in fact reduce its service very soon according to their website:

I had it inactive since February 2019!

Yesterday, 38-068 was on the 68 and 3 7 - 0 9 2 (its front exterior fleet numbers are spaced out like that, probably as a result of the accident it was in) was on the 485.

Today, LE 30-882 was on the 470 and 30-208 was on the 121.

Almost all rush hour extras on the 90 are operating as SN extras. Spotted 37-075 on run 102, 37-095 on run 104, 38-030 on run 109. Based on that logic, 24-297 should have been 90-101 (I took this, see other thread).

FR seems to be doing extras on the 35, and there are a few others.

Saw now SL (what??) 30-023, 30-239 and 28-018 on the 171, tracking on some weird 2173- trip ID's. Compared to the rt 90 trips which were simply substituted with SN trips without adding service, these buses are added departures that didn't exist. I guess there's some overcrowding issues on the 171.

Interestingly, 30-228 was tracking on the 747 this afternoon, and according to the spreadsheet it was doing the 747 two days ago as well. I wonder what's special about that one.

Sorry, that was my mistake. I forgot to change the date when I updated it and only realized about an hour later. But yeah, weird "sighting".

30-001 to 005 are now at LaSalle and 31-211 to 220 are now at Stinson it seems.
