Today's Sightings

Recommended Posts

Yesterday:

SL 22-283 was on the 144 in the morning.

LE 22-237 was on the 105 around 18:25.

MR 25-240 was on the 123 around 20:45.

Today:

I took LE 22-384 on the 90 around 6:45.

LE 22-208 was En Transit and doing driver training behind 22-384 when I got on. It turned on Cavendish, and may have been heading to do the 104 based on the run number.

LE 22-382 was on the 37 around 7:00.

22-270 was doing a Stinson extra on the 90 during AM rush.

22-228 was on the 168 around 15:00. It had the new FR bumper, so may have been transferred from Anjou.

SL 22-279 was on the 124E at Vendome around 17:00.

SN 37-099 was on the 51 around 18:40. I'm pretty sure this one was still at SN not that long ago.

LS 24-232 was on the 105 around 18:40.

LS 28-703 was on the 162 around 20:10.

Shoot! It's 1AM I hope I'm not too late to say Yesterday's sighting. I meant to do this earlier. Ok:

20/04/2018

22-260 On a passing 18 Ecole bus

24-272 on 55 bus going South

36-002 on 51 going West

36-001 on 51 going East

37-090 on 51 E

37-099 51 E

I could also post the sighting I jotted down on April 17, 2018, but I dunno if that's too far back or not.

Thanks to the STM new iBus bus position system, I can spot the new 38-XXX from home!

38-003 is currently active on the 201

Edit : here is the 38-001 on the 205 in my neighborhood.

It looks like it is higher than other HEV's. Look at the 36-019 vs 38-001.

Yesterday:

- St-Laurent's 31-047 was on the 495 westbound during the PM rush. It was most likely an SL extra.

Today:

- 36-902 and 36-903 were on the 36 today with run numbers were 813 and 0 respectively. Do they use 8xx runs for the electric buses?

- Legendre's 22-263 was on the 90.

- 36-021 and 36-024 were on the 105.

22-287 was parked at Côte-Vertu as En Transit. Last time I saw this bus it was at LaSalle.

22-289 was En Transit on Marcel Laurin Boulevard.

22-397 (SL?) was on the 211.

I think those 22s moved to St. Laurent when Stinson lost all those VSL routes. 22-397 is a Legendre bus.

On Saturday 22-241 was out on the 168.

27-517 on the 16 (am extra?) and I missed it by 30 seconds...... is there even a way of knowing the existence of extras and their scheduled arrival time?

There are no scheduled extras on the 16. I am able to look up extras using the GTFS data - searching it doesn't give me departure times, just the run number (there's a text file that lists all run numbers and their routes that is sorted by garage). I have a program I use that also uses the GTFS data and gives the run numbers for specific departures. Basically, I can check if a specific departure is an extra or I can check if a route has extras, but finding the departure time of any specific bus requires some guesswork.

On the topic of 27-517, I saw LS 24-232 and 28-703 running out of Stinson recently, so that bus is probably a similar case.

SL 22-340 was on the 144 during AM rush. I wonder if some of these older buses have been displaced by the arrival of the 38-XXX.

Yesterday:

28-053 was doing a SN extra on the 90 during AM rush.

LE (?) 22-219 was on the 90 during PM rush. This was the bus after mine (30-021). Had I known before leaving, I'd have waited.

30-049 was on the 51 around 18:30 with a wrap for JustEat.ca.

22-217 was on the 105 in the evening.

Today:

I took LE 22-384 on the 90 around 6:30, running out of Lasalle. It was tracking on the 105 during PM rush and on the 103 now, so it probably moved to Stinson during the day.

On that topic, I don't know how I feel about posting sightings directly from iBus - it might kind of ruin the fun if one person could list everything of note in the city. Also, we can't be 100% sure the displayed number is accurate. What do you guys think? It's definitely a useful tool though, it helped me find 22-384 this morning for example.

LE 22-263 was on the 63 around 6:50.

22-246 was on the 105 in the evening.

Second generation LFS seem to be making a bit of a comeback at Stinson. I've been seeing more on the 105, and three of the four Stinson 90 extras were 2nd gens today (according to iBus, 22-251, 22-280 and 22-347).

In the past two weeks, I've seen 24-232, 22-251, 22-246, 22-279 and a few others on Stinson routes.

How do you use iBus to find the fleet number?

Open up the bus route on the stm website (so that you see the buses on the map). On the network tab of your browser's developer tools you should see that the API refreshes every ~30 seconds (may look different on your browser).

Capture.thumb.PNG.b84525dd7e85d9fd66f11020d22cb81d.PNG

Click on this and it should give you a list of buses (vehicle_ref is the fleet number).

Thanks to @FelixINX for bringing the existence of this to my attention in another thread.
