Today's Sightings

Recommended Posts

Lasalle's 24-289 was operating out of Mont Royal today on run 51-36. I saw it departing Atwater on the 144 at 8:20, and then again arriving at Montreal Ouest on the 51 around 16:20.

37-033 was on the 105 around 16:20.

I appreciate your explanations as I haven't taken the 90 in years. The STM cannot claim ignorance as their SCAD counters must show management the true ridership statistics of the line. You do not need to work in transit to understand that the "do nothing" approach is the cheapest and likely preferred route management system at STM. You cannot expect the people working at CCA (bus control centre) to be proactive on the weekend. And as usual, transit systems always try to get away with running as little service as possible. I would agree that certain heavy routes deserve their 10 min max designation, but certain routes as you have mentioned above serve no purpose other than to inflate their stats for marketing purposes. There are other routes out there that run empty with 20 min midday headways. 53 St-Laurent is an excellent example. The only reason I can think of why it runs so frequent is because it is the cushion for CT Legendre employees to get to their relief points.

The STM needs to start thinking outside the box and start offering short turns (with a different route designation, if necessary) to offer the most service to the greatest number of riders.

The 53 is being abolished and merged into the 55 St-Laurent

30-162 was on the 41. Is this an Anjou bus or does it belong to Stinson or St. Laurent? Definately not Legendre!

23-234 was on the 139 this afternoon. Still has the Novabus logo on the front!

Anjou's 27-510 was on the 178 this afternoon.

24-254 was also on the 178.

22-321 was on the 168 this afternoon.

37-024 was on the 170.

31-195 was on the 125 tonight, it no longer has the side wrap for that STM book reading thingamajig.

My guess either September or January, it was approved at the monthly meeting in May.

Today I happened to take the 53 so I asked the driver, he said September. I also got a few shots of 3rd gens on this route, including one with a bike rack!

I caught 24-289 on the 90 yesterday, so it's back from Mont Royal. It left Atwater 15 minutes late, the first bus in over 20 minutes at the height of rush hour (the subsequent two hadn't shown up).

37-048 was on the 105 this morning.

37-048 has got to be the highest number hybrid spotted yet so far!

37-029 was on the 103 this afternoon.

30-162 as En Transit on Cote Vertu. Whats weird about this bus is, it has a checkered bumper like all Frontenac buses usually get nowadays. I don't think Frontenac ever had 2010s!

St. Laurent's 30-240 was doing the 121 this evening. The rear numbers read as 30240 placed crooked.

Its going to be interesting to see wich buses will be transfer to other CT.  30-176 to 30-182 have moved to St-Laurent and like you said, 30-021 to 30-029 have been transfer to Lasalle.  Others will probably follow this summer.

30-155 to 30-165 might be the next set of buses moving from Stinson to Saint Laurent. I caught 30-159 on the 200 today.

I caught 24-201 on the 51 this evening around 21:10. Also of interest is that it was the first accessibility violation I've noticed at Mont Royal (run 47-01). It came after the last non-accessible run of the day.

28-093 was on the 179 around 20:30 (accessibility violation).

28-123 (accessibility violation) and 29-148 were on the 166 tonight.

St. Denis' 32-003 was parked at Dorval as the 485. uFnx2.gif It still has the Montreal 375e wrap on it.

28-023 was on the 168 this afternoon. Can't tell if it's Anjou or LaSalle bus.

32-019 with the Promutuel wrap was on the 15 this evening.

30-057 was on the 427 with the Poppers wrap.

28-705 was parked at Lionel Groulx. Display wasn't on.

It arrived En Transit.. since when does a 485 start at Dorval?!?

28-023 is supposed to be an Anjou bus, but it seems to have been transferred to Frontenac along with some of our 27-5XX. We got a couple 21s in Exchange

31-236 is wrapped for Ici Musique 100.7. It was on the 15 today.

Stinson's 22-391 was on the 24 today.

24-201 is back at Lasalle. It was broken down at Atwater today, but I know it was on run 90-28 because of the run box and because 90-28's run was canceled.

Lasalle seems to be using its older buses more heavily lately. 24-216, 251, 252, 253, 258, 287, 288, 289 and 303 were on the 90 during PM rush. The camera-requiring runs had 25-224, 26-016 and 28-703. The only front ramp buses I saw were 29-018 and 29-026. It was like this most other days this week too.

In contrast, there didn't seem to be any 2nd generation LFS on the 105 this afternoon. (12:00-14:00)

I drove C21002 in overtime tonight for extras for St Jean Baptiste Day activities. I was only needed to do half a trip on the 8 and half a trip on the 19 from the intersection of Cousineau and Gaétan-Boucher in St-Hubert, both metrobound. Very quiet crowds compared to years past.
