Today's Sightings

Recommended Posts

It appears that St-Hubert is receving galo 210XX buses and that Longueuil will take in return gash 211XX buses. The transferring of vehicles has already started!

I think it was Tristan that mentioned to me that GASH will be activating the wheelchair ramps on the 2010's which is why there all going to be at GASH.

I was away in Florida for two weeks so I'm kinda out of it, have the new hybrids entered service at the RTL?

No sir but you can bet money that they are saving their unveiling for the Jeux du Québec

It makes no sense, they can wait, as GASH does not have any accessible bus route. Until that happens, nobody at GASH will be trained on accessibilité universelle. This is straight from one of our instructors.

Does the RTL swap buses to even the mileage? STM does more and more of that these days. Needless to say St-Laurent gets low mileage buses to make them run.

I spoke to one of our gareurs and the answer is yes although it was not made clear to me which garage will do most of the running. I suppose GALO has the advantage since they have a lot of highway routes and long routes like the 88 and the 99. GASH is the king of short routes with action like the 39 and the 47. Currently, 21100 and 21300 series buses are being sent to GALO to activate their ramps - for example, I shunted 21311 a couple of days ago. GASH has a couple GALO buses to compensate... I have recently driven 2-0004 and 2-0221 on GASH routes.

RTL hybrid 21403 just delivered at GALO in back of the garage.

As of yesterday 21401, 21402, and 21403 are all at GASH and are awaiting service. 21401 is the only plated vehicle so far.

What is the deal with all the STM buses carrying this "On n'est rien vole!" sticker below the driver's window?

You'll see those stickers on STL and RTL buses also as well as on police cars, fire trucks and city vehicles. It's to show our disagreement with the government's proposed law on pension plans.

You'll also notice that all police, firemen and bus drivers in Quebec are in civilian clothing as of today as a sign of protest.

nice finally they have some "real" bus back for their transit service!

Only saw the cut-a-ways in transit service but you never know, they could throw these on a regular line at anytime. No markings on them though. The LFS is all white and the Orion V is all grey.

Today's Jeux du Québec sightings:

Got pics this early afternoon at Collège Champlain of the following buses:

200: 20411, 20829 (not pictured: 20904)

(Not pictured - route 205: 20513, 20905)

210: 20817 (not pictured: 20831, 21230)

220: 21119

243: 20511

260: 21211

Through our driver database, I can tell you that the following buses were dispatched:

GALO: 20504, 20527, 20817, 21006, 21102, 21105, 21211 (yes there is interlining), 21230, 21304

GASH: 2-0234, 20908, 20923, 20930

I drove 20811 on route 220, and a tripper run of route 200. As far as I can tell, I was the most junior operator to work today on the Jeux du Québec shuttles

Yesterday on the Casino shuttle I didn't see anything but NFI's! One of them, #1237 had the green stripe, but no CITVR logo.

Transbus has the contract for the Casino shuttle and they only have NFI's when it comes to transit buses, so that's all you'll seen on that shuttle. As for 1237, that's one of the new 2014 XD40's only running on the shuttle with large Transbus logos on all 4 sides. I think you meant CITSV logos and not CITVR.
