Seashore_518203
HSR (Hamilton Street Railway)-(from my really rusty memory)- 1996 NFI D40LF - retired last year 1997 Novabus LFS - retired last year 1998 NFI D40LF - most retired, some still hanging around. 1999 Orion VI - most retired, a few left, rode one on new years eve. CPTDB is a really valuable information source for transit fans. PLEASE do not post information that is inaccurate. If you are not sure, then don't post. The Wiki is also available as a source of information that is reasonably (but not always) accurate. For the 9600 series, there are 7 that are still in service (9603, 04, 05, 08, 11, 12 ,13). The 9700 Novas are all retired with 6 having been sold to MTB for possible refurbishment and resale. All of the 9800 and 9900 series are in service (except 9905 retired due to a fire a few years ago). However, some of these series may be going when the Arbocs finally enter service. It has not been decided what 5 buses will be retired but they may come from these two series.
Sudbury_Transit
Greater Sudbury Transit's oldest bus would be a 1994 Orion V 942. Bus hasn't been out on the road lately but is still housed in the transit garage. Mainly only used as a spare or charter bus. Once she is gone, the award will go to the 1995 New Flyer D40LF buses (951-955) which have all been rebuilt over the past 5 years including the ex. Rayside Balfour units. Wonka
Are the 96/98 not C40LF's? They are. HSR didn't switch to diesel new flyers until the 2004/2005 order. 96, 98, 2002, and 2003 are all C40LF. Are there any significant problems with the Orion VI buses or are they just kind of "next in line", so to speak? I recall that it seemed like they had some problems in their teething years but in recent years they seem to be no worse than any other buses on the road... just that horrible, Orion design. The 96 and 98 C40LF's seem ready for the junk pile, especially some of the '98s. Rusty rattle boxes.
