Express691
The Federal government has announced a federal holiday on Monday September 19 for the Queen's funeral. This will not be a stat holiday so for now there will be no impact to bus service.

So TransLink staff get the stat, but the general public don't.

Our National Day of Mourning not having an impact of bus service is because a change in service cannot be done with a weeks notice, it has nothing to do with who the stat does or does not effect. Bus service is a little more complicated than not sending the kiddie's to school. There are different types of stats and how those stats effect employees are dependent on their Collective Agreements.

Busmanic92
Basically it's saying skytrain will be less frequent. They couldn't make it a one day holiday (this year only) with a week notice to all employers (not just transit) We all miss our Queen dearly. May her Majesty rest in peace. Maybe one day we will meet again (even though we never did or have)

This is due to STC having a shortage of... well everything, so they are sending STC buses (that are diesel) to VTC for repairs. CNGs are going to HTC. 19110 and 19112 were at HTC for a short time. This included 19110 unintentionally operating out of HTC for a week or so.
Express691
There were reports of an extra unlisted 321 between White Rock and Newton Exchange - lots of 321s and White Rock stuff in general ran 20 minutes (+later) behind today. This morning also apparently had a few unlisted 319s running the 72 avenue section.

I would say its a zero chance but due too the bus shortages at stc it has happened. But I don't think permanent because R1 white rock extension will come eventually and the R6 Next september

If nothing else, there won't be enough buses to have the artics ordered for the R1 and R6 sitting idle.

Express691
The regimental funeral for Const. Shaelyn Yang was this morning. At least 20 buses (all XDE60 minus 1 XD40) from PCT, RTC, HTC, BTC, and VTC were sent to pick up officers and shuttle them to the various RCMP posts. Buses went to BCIT Aerospace to stage for the procession and another set of buses (no buses stayed during the event) picked up at the Richmond Olympic Oval. There was also a few BC Transit buses bringing in officers from the Fraser Valley but they stayed at Sea Island, the original meeting place. I guess it's a bit special too in that buses are generally not seen in this part of Richmond, an area which definitely needs more coverage IMO

Surrey literally hasn't gone a day without having 2 or 3 non-rapidbus artics running on the R1 and vice versa with the 18000s running on the 503. The only thing one can gauge out of this is for mileage balance.
