Next stations to get tim hortons:

Sea Island Centre
Lake City Way
Lafarge Lake-Douglas

Sea Island Centre seems like an odd choice? Isn't there one right across the street from the south entrance?

Either 12024 or 16210 does as well, I forget which one.

Ha! I noticed quite a few buses at RTC has it this morning, 16215 and 9548 has the transfer cutters installed!

Wonder if they got that from Victoria, we have "transfer cutters" on our buses still except we use them to rip off daypasses.

It looks like they're trying to sneakily switch to paper transfers on the conventionals lol

They aren't being sneaky at all. There was a post on the Buzzer saying a full rollout of paper transfers will occur next month

That's correct, the entire fleet is switching to tear off transfers. Mag strip transfers are history. The electronic fareboxes will continue to accept cash fares, but we will issue tear off transfers instead of the mag strip transfers until they get replaced with the TAG farebox.

Speaking of electronic farebox, do you know which cubic model it is? I only know it's the same as the kind being being phased out by NYC

My apologies, lafarge, lake city, and sea island arent getting tims afterall (I fell victim to some joking around)

The actual list is:
Stadium, Surrey Central, Renfew, Rupert.

Renfrew seems a little strange, there is already a Tim Hortons in the building across 12 Ave from the station.

That's beyond my knowledge, sorry! ?

not sure if this was mentioned, but I saw this:

Newton Exchange bay reassignment: 335 and 341 are assigned to a new bay 11 along 72nd near Coast Capital.

If this is a result from the current bays seeing more usage, then I guess the newton exchange rebuild in 2012-2013 wasnt futureproofed enough (which I can understand because I guess they had assumed the LRT was going to go through which would have resulted in a brand new, bigger exchange altogether), and that this is also a result of increased transit usage in surrey (notably from the 319 and R1)

The driver of 2202 had a slightly eventful first day on the 5/6 yesterday. He missed the turn onto Robson from Denman and was directed to go via Alberni and Bidwell to get back onto Robson. It's not every day you get to ride a trolley down the side streets lol.

If someone is moving onto an unfamiliar route for the new sheet, don't the drivers get any route learning?

I believe they go over all the routes during the initial training, and only if you switch divisions then you get route training for routes covered by that division. Even if one did train on that route, it is very easy to forget to make a turn, whether you are a novice on the route, or a seasoned pro.

Wrong turns happen on the 50/15 all the time by Cambie going SB. Drivers go straight instead of turning right.

As far as driver training goes. During initial training including line training, the trainees are specifically training for VTC routes. The initial training you just learn the bus and loops and just do partial routes. During line training you do complete routes but even if you do a different route everyday, you don’t cover all of them.

If you switch depots during a consolidated sign up, you get a week of route training for your new depot.  If you get forced to a new depot or request a transfer, you’re on your own.
