Two types of car that I would like to see in particular Peter, the power car (converted baggages) right behind the locos and any domes if they've got them.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Ok I will work on those next. As for the Power Car, I didn't get a shot of that one. However, I did take some shots of one of those cars several years ago. So when I come across it, I will scan it and post it. I do have the dome cars and will post them hopefully later on today.

Some of them were built by Radar Railcar, which later became Colorado Railcar.

While the vast majority of their double-deck cars have been built new, a couple of their earlier cars were built using the frame and draft gear of retired passsenger equipment. I don't know if any of RMR's earlier cars are included in this. The vast majority of the single-level cars that they've built (such as VIA's 1720, 1721 and 1722) are heavily-modified CC&F ex-VIA/nee-CN coaches.

Thanks for the photos Peter!

Dan

Found these two RMR Locomotives parked by the Victoria Park Transit Garage in Downtown Calgary. Enjoy!

Great photos. I was in Kamloops over the last weekend and saw the Rocky Mountaineer pass through twice.

When we left to head back to Ontario we passed it a couple of times as I stopped to photograph it then raced ahead.

Managed to get some photos as it went through Craigellachie. Then we got to the spiral Tunnels at Kicking Horse I watched a freight go through (Impresive)

but was not sure of the location of the Rocky Mountaineer so did not wait to see it go through. :)

Almost changed me from a Busfan to a RailfanCraigellachie.JPG

Went out to Banff, Lake Louise, and Field BC this past Saturday and managed to catch a few shots of the RMR train headed east bound from Vancouver towards Calgary. Was surprised to find a Genset operating as the second locomotive in the consist. NRE #2020. Photos below:

Any idea why the second loco was a Genset? Swapped out for a locomotive that had a problem? Or maybe they are trying to see if there are fuel savings involved. I'm sure that the extra power is only needed to climb the hills.

I would imagine it was on demo to them.

Here are photos of NRE 2020 and NREX 2906. I didn't see 2020 during last years season at all, so I assume it has been returned.

2020 was only lease for a demo. Guess they are picking up 2906 on a longer term lease or on a lease to own if they are painting it.
