STO bus spottings

Recommended Posts

I last saw 7901 crossing Portage Bridge on 24 in PM rush IIRC a day or 2 ago. Often while waiting at Place d'Accueuil SB I'd see 7901 from a distance turning right from bridge onto Laurier EB.

Bus # 9512 has received full bodywork and new paint job. It's decked out with new STO logos now.

But otherwise plain white.

BTW I have not seen 7901 for several weeks. Has it been retired? Usually when I saw it, it coming across the Portage Bridge on route 24 in the afternoon rush hour.

No saw it yesterday and today at around 4:00-4:15 downtown and again on Tuesday at around 7:30 PM near the Casino

The new look with the new logo on the HF buses is not very impressive. Though I'm surprised they've have done the repaint since they might very well be retired pretty soon, the youngest HF's have almost 20 years of service.

Just a guess here, but I'd imagine 7901 won't see much, if any, action during the slower months of July & August. Will be interesting to see if it's back on the road in regular service in September.

That's cool to know that at least a few Classics are getting a new lease on life. I haven't spotted one yet.

The one catch. By having 7901 in regular revenue service, there more chance it getting

1) graffiti at the rear of the bus inside.

2) getting into an accident where its a right off,

I know the STO is short of buses so why retire buses until you have newer ones in revenue service.

7901 was in service yesterday afternoon

14 LFSA are on property making up the 2014 order.

Because if your bulkheads crack on a Classic that cost more than the bus is worth to repair, and you have a serviceable bus sitting in the yard, you use the serviceable bus. Common sense.

I was in Gatineau yesterday and saw 7901 in service again during PM rush, looks like they really have a shortage on buses that they have to use it for service during the rush hour.

btw I don't know if I am correct or not, I saw 0701 in regular scheme without the hybrid roofing, is it being converted back to diesel? I took a very poor shot of it from very far but i am not too sure if they put the # in error or not. 0702 is still in full hybrid scheme with the roofing as of yesterday.

I spotted 1403 running route 400 on Montcalm Street in Hull this afternoon. It is in the regular (new) STO livery, the same as 1225.

I'm guessing that since the new 14XX series buses have now entered service, the New Look 7901 is out of service and back stored as a historical bus?
