The full adult fare presumably would be to recoup some of the costs that get charged to the retailer whenever their cards are used. Visa and Mastercard usually charge a couple percent of the value of the transaction, depending on the level of the card and the volume of transactions each merchant has.

But wouldn't that apply regardless? If I load my (Presto) card using credit/debit card, aren't they still incurring cost (is this a drt v presto cost)? It's frustrating that all other gta systems are planning to adopt using presto discounts except DRT? Seems to inconvenience users in the eastern region.

Regrettably, DRT was never in fact part of it. The UP Express was part of that pilot.

OK not the pilot, but weren't they part if the first agencies to launch (I tweeted about this at the beginning of June)? I remember tweeting about why drt seemed to be the only ones without presto discount when using debit/credit, did they pull out last minute? I can't seem to find the original post on way back, but I definitely did tweet about it. Anyways, suprised regardless.

Noticed the 917 desto just says “PICKERING” now instead of “PICKERING PARKWAY”, which seems too vague. Come to think of it, the destinations for the 900 are also pretty vague.

It's part of the new system wide rollout of a new destination code program. Now routes would say "915 Harmony" or "915 Ajax Station". Essentially the route number and route name with a P/R sign (i.e. "We're Hiring")

I realise that. However the first time they changed the signs, it read Pickering Parkway. Now it just says Pickering which I think is worse from a wayfinding perspective.

This sounds like MiWay truncating Meadowvale Town Centre To just Meadowvale even though there's room on the desto, even if it's as Meadowvale TC.

The confusion arises as there are several Meadowvale: Town Centre, GO, Blvd., high school, library/community centre, arena and theatre.  Not all of which are in close proximity to each other.

Pickering GO and Pickering Pkwy/Town Centre despite being connected by the world's longest enclosed pedestrian bridge are still quite a ways apart.  DRT also has the habit of shifting routes from one "Pickering" terminal to the other.  Perhaps it's future-proofing?

Ex. DRT 8407 is being sold on AutoTrader, 2 years after it was auctioned off in 2020. The listing incorrectly labels it as 5407, but an "8" can be vaguely seen near the door in this photo. Doesn't seem to be in amazing shape.

That's not 8407. 8407 never had sliding windows on both sides.

One way to tell is by looking at the transmission shifter. 8401-8430 at DRT had Voith D864.3E not D864.5

DRT TransSee Update/News

6126  Novabus LFS HEV entered service this afternoon/evening on route 920

When looking at the vehicle tracking it shows that the bus was signed on to the 920 on October 4th, but never left Ajax GO Station area.  Probably just signed into a block for training, it never entered service if I hazard a guess

It actually did enter service. Broken tracker. He saw it in person.

Oshawa GO Station is currently closed to DRT buses due to GO Transit ATU picket lines. Buses 902 and 403 are affected/detoured. Please take the 917 from the Oshawa Centre or Durham College Whitby Campus to access Whitby GO Station instead.

It's a bit hard to read this on light mode. Would you be able to repost in plain text?
