Barrie Transit

Is there anything new happening at Barrie Transit?

The answer is nothing as Barrie is all majority of LF land. Service however has expanded more routes.

When I was riding one of the Vs on the Bayview it sounded like a Voith D863 but the tranny woudn't go past 2nd. I have a recording of it, but not a good quality one.

Matt

You forgot to add 68506, the last of the 2006 D40LFs

And 68105 is a paratransit bus. It's a Ford E350.

I thought they were only supposed to get 4. They only put the bid out for 4 vehicles.

I'll double check.

It looks like they did bought 5.

They bought 4. They are: 682-83-84-85

I've never heard of a 680, but 681 is a paratransit bus (Ford E350)

(EDIT: 1/02/07, I just looked through my pics and there is a 680. It's a Ford paratransit. But, I don't have a pic of a 681, but I think it's somewhere.)

I am going to Georgian College in September and want to get a map of the routes and a timetable so I can see where/how I can get around in Barrie. I am going up to Barrie tommorow to tour the campus, do they have these on the buses or is there a place I can order one?

Thanks

You can get a hard copy of the system map at the Barrie Transit Terminal. Just go inside the terminal & ask at the counter.

Do they have them on the buses or can I order one? I dont know if I will have time to go to the transit terminal.

I sent an email to them today. I was up in Barrie and their transit system operates D40LFs and Orion Vs (thats all I saw). All of their buses have 1 line displays front with no rear route sign.
