gmnewlook
Hey, just thought I should start a topic for the RTL 89s and 90s. You know, instead of putting them in the 59-0XX, 60-0XX watch topic. Here's the first one: 9-007 doing the 83 at 15h50 Edited May 21, 2012 by SMS I needed to specify what can be posted here... is anyone reading this... elalala.... - SMS
SMS
Before the old forum went down, Tristan wrote that Van Hool AG700s will no longer be used on the Boucheville 86 & 87 Expresses. Last week I tried the 86 with 8-913. Tomorrow I'm trying the 87. Weather should be great. I'll be at TCV at or before 16:25. Anyone whose interested to come with me is welcome! stm_5307N
Should be mentioned that a fellow FHTCQ member said that 8-915 is retired and being used for parts for the remaining AG700's.
80-040_Guy-Concordia
Aug 23, 2006 9-020 parked inside TCV near the exit 9-045 displaying 55 Centre-Ville entering TCV at 6pm AG700 8-919 was doing the 45, entering TCV @ 6pm 9-053 displaying 42 Centre-Ville, entering TCV 6:15pm. It has a very very rusty front!
SMS
Balios equipped AG700 C8-920 was on the first outbound run of the 86; David and I got on the first outbound run of the 87 with 8-915 with a cool driver who let us HLP to Longueuil Garage! Tomorrow is the last day of AG700 services on the Boucherville expresses. Get your pics... the second outbound run of the 86 was a Classic, so Tristan wasn't lying to us. Oh wow, thank god I got to ride 8-907 on the 86 back in the spring. So my guess is that the AG700's will be solely used on the 45? Or will they make it onto other routes like 90 Chevrier or a comeback on the 73?

Wait a minute, isn't 8-915 being used for parts. It was parked near the Administration building for almost a month.

David D.
Wait a minute, isn't 8-915 being used for parts. It was parked near the Administration building for almost a month. Well Jesus-Christ that might explain the mechanical problems we were experiencing on Marie-Victorin!!! IF our bus was missing parts then no wonder! While on Marie-Victorin the bus began getting a warning beeping noise and the driver started to drive really really slow while cars were passing us and then he kept putting the heat on full blast!! Which seemed to solved the problem or whatever warning he was getting.. Mario and I's reactions were precisely LOL. Well Martin, that's interesting to know lol... Well here's another sighing from me that i actually havent forgotten in the last 24hrs which was while in line at TCV for the 87 I spotted 9-039 doing the

Or will they make it onto other routes like 90 Chevrier or a comeback on the 73? The few remaining AG700s (I don't know how many remain since my list has become obsolete) indeed will be on the Champlain Bridge/Brossard Expresses, meaning the 45 and the occasional rare appearance on the 90. Although Tristan has seen one operate on the 73 a few months ago... I sincerely doubt that these buses will make any significant comeback on local Longueuil routes. Drivers don't really like the AG700 compared to the AG300 for starters. Many RTL routes cannot be operated with artics, or just aren't justified. And let's not forget the plethora of LFS that they have, and I don't mean even the crappy type, the brand new deliveries as well. And service requirements of the RTL are significantly inferior than the STM (which is saying a lot) on the majority of their lines, which are content to be run with standards buses at mediocre frequencies... if artics arrived, expect a service decrease! As for Martin's comment... obviously you know I'm not lying because it was 8-915. Anyways I'll have a picture up... but it was definitely this bus. And it ran very well on the expressway. Sorry to see no one really took advantage of the last day of 700 services in Boucherville, at least till the next charter...
Mystic
Me and Christian saw 8-915 yesterday and we were just as baffled! Actually while the driver was waiting at the traffic light we talked to him for a bit, and he said that the bus was very dusty when he first got on, and that he went around and cleaned up a bit. He also said he understood why I was taking the photos, and said, it's not long for these vehicles...

Mystic
Christian must have been in shock when he saw it! He's the one that was sure it was being taken apart! Yeah, it was sitting atleast a month infront of the garage, and he said it looked like one part was higher than the other, and the panels were open, and it was sitting through all weather for the longest time. Surprisingly it was brought back into service. But the problems Dave mentioned, perhaps it will be the last run...

David D.
Well we don't know that for sure. Well when he put the heat on it seemed to solve the problem, which was VERY VERY weird. And I'm still baffled, but this driver knew was he was doing, and he was a very very kool guy, nothing like guy we got afterward on route 20. Actually while the driver was waiting at the traffic light we talked to him for a bit, and he said that the bus was very dusty when he first got on, and that he went around and cleaned up a bit. He also said he understood why I was taking the photos, and said, it's not long for these vehicles... I noticed and pointed out the dust to Mario, it was very very dusty for a bus that was let into service. There was a seat in the rear that was dirty enough to cause a problem if u were wearing white or black pants. Ya the driver was really nice and talking to us all about these buses and his decade and a half of driving them, he was also telling us about when he drove NewLooks etc. and the differences between the AG700s and AG300s driving and handlingwise. stm_5307N
Some of us toured the RTL St Hubert garage today, and 8-907 is still in service but 8-908 is retired. The oldest Classic we saw was 9-019 and it stilll had the old STRSM logos. It was retired at the far back of the garage.

The oldest Classic we saw was 9-019 and it stilll had the old STRSM logos. It was retired at the far back of the garage. The oldest Classic that I saw on Thursday was 9-002, and I saw one Classic with the STRSM logos still on it and it was in service near TCV. They were very clean looking compared to some of the other Classics that I saw on the road, which were covered almost entirely in rust, dents and scratches sadly. I plan on adding all these photos shortly to my fotopic galleries, so stay tuned for that.
SMS
I think all RTL articulated operations will be based out of Saint-Hubert, as Longueuil has no need for them, given that the 86 and 87 will now be run with standard buses. At the same time, during the photo tour of the exterior of Saint-Hubert this afternoon, we noticed that even many AG300s were out of service due to mechanical problems... meaning that we may either see a) stnadard buses more often on the 45; more AG700s than usual on the road. Some RTL Classics have been rebuilt recently and look amazing - one such example is 9-016. As good as the STO has rebuilt their Classics. I have yet to see a rebuilt STM Classic that measures up to this standard! Overall a very successful visit. At some point the pictures will be up on SMS.fotopic.net
David D.
Late late tonight while with my dad coming from driving around the city for awhile, i saw RTL 20111 doing the 45. I know i saw it earlier today but i cant remember if it was while we were at the garage or did i see it on the highway doing the 45 then as well? stm_5307N
I'd have to say abut 85% of the classics at St Hubert garage were very clean and looked to be repainted.
