They maybe a little late then, I heard the PAB dock failed while the Caribou was in dock last week, there were 30 cars trapped on the top deck. They had to sail back to N.Sydney, move the cars to the lower deck and return to PAB. As a result of using only one deck there was a hugh back up at both sides.

OC Transpo still makes an effort, I guess.

We have buses in parades with decorations

And then 6394 for the anniversary bus.

They are talking about painting a bus into 'heritage' schemes, which Metrobus did with 8201.

Metrobus Transit going a little more green

To mark its fiftieth anniversary, Metrobus Transit is going a little retro, and a little more green.

The transit agency has painted one of its older buses with the familiar lime-green striping from the mid seventies that is sure to turn a few heads in the weeks to come.

“We wanted to make an impression and get people thinking about the history of transit service within the city,” said General Manager, Judy Powell. “One look at this bus and you’re transported back thirty years.”

The bus was painted with environmentally-friendly DelFleet® Evolution paint donated by PPG Canada Inc. Delfleet® Evolution is PPG's premium paint system for meeting the demanding needs and exacting specifications of OEM commercial vehicle manufacturers and fleet maintenance operations. The product used on the retro Metrobus meets the federal government’s VOC (volatile organic compounds) requirements for refinish systems.

The commemorative bus started in service on May 3rd.

Free Ride on Metrobus

June 26, 2009

Starting Monday, Metrobus will offer free rides in the downtown core on a new bus route designed to service Water and Duckworth Streets. The new service, named 'Buddy', will travel east on Duckworth Street past the Sheraton, turn around on Quidi Vidi Road then head west for the Convention Centre via Plymouth Road, Duckworth, Cochrane and Water Street. Buddy was designed to facilitate movement in the downtown area and targets employees and visitors to St. John's. The service will remain in effect until September 6. During this time Metrobus will evaluate the route to determine its future plans for 'Buddy'.

Thanks Jordan
