Shocking / disturbing things you have witnessed on transit

What are some of the most disturbing / shocking things you have witnessed on transit?

For me, I guess it's the time when someone tried to go across the tracks at Spadina station (BD Line), and got dangerously close to getting hit by a Westbound T1...

A distinct smell of urine anywhere near a TTC washroom, and oddly enough on various SRT cars.

I've seen a few shocking things. Once, I saw a guy climbed down onto the southbound line at Davisville to retrieve his cell phone. A train had just left, but still, I was shocked. What's more disturbing is that my dad said he would do something similar under the circumstances!

One time in Calgary, I encountered a drunk and disorderly woman who was swearing and harrassing other passengers on the C-train. I had her removed.

there was a nut once on a bus yelling racist remarks.

That reminds me of something else I saw. I woman was chewing out the fare collector at Finch saying "You're bad! You're a disgrace!"

I was meeting people downtown and running late. So I said to the woman "Shut up!" She did. She paid her fare and went into the subway. She didn't say anying to the fare collector or myself after that.

Unless this has happened several times, I think I was there.

I saw two drivers arguing once, but I was not 100% sure if they were serious or joking. it was at davisville and the 11 bus had parked in the 97 slot. when the driver of the 11 came out the 97 driver (I was on that bus) made a comment. the 11 driver was all like "its not YOUR spot, is your name there" etc. He was essentially being rude not just to her but to everyone on my bus. I was literally one more word away from getting off the bus, telling teh driver of 11 he made a STUPID mistake doing something like this right at davisville, and walking the 100 meters to customer service.

1. At McKenzie King Transitway (Ottawa), some guy started yelling "Osama Bin Laden" for no reason (Kevin L knows this one :( )

2. On a Thunder Bay bus, the guy sitting next to me was spitting BLOOD. :)

3. The strange and somehow disturbing smell at Union streetcar station (TO).

When I was fanning HSR (John will remember this one :( ), some old guy sitting beside us at the back of the D40LF was reading his Girls Gone Wild DVD in plain sight. :)

Haven't seen him in a long time, he might even be dead I don't know but there used to be this guy here in Brantford who was very menacing looking, he had hooks for hands and he often was shirtless and wore construction boots. He'd start yelling for whatever reason and he'd scare a lot of people...

A few years ago I was sent to Brantford Transit and this guy gets in my car... I'm thinking oh great... so I played dumb and asked what happened to his arms... they were blown off when he hit a live wire while working for Ontario Hydro and it also scrambled his brain... which explained the violent outbursts.

Still looking at him gave me the creeps! :)

Sounds like something from a bad movie. :)

When I was in Vancouver two to three summers ago (back in 2004), I saw at least two things that I had observed on Transit.

When I was on the Millennium Line Skytrain (I pass thru Braid station and the Trans-Canada Highway 1), I saw an obnoxious odour coming out on the Mark II train, complete with some smoke. The train suddenly slowed down through the Lougheed Town Centre station and then suddenly the alarm goes off at the station.

Everyone was shocked to see what's wrong. Hopefully the Skytrain technicians were dispatched at least 2 minutes after the train has stopped. They told everyone to leave the train and wait for the next one. I also saw for the first time that I can see part of the Mark II controls as the technicians took that train back to the maintenance centre in Burnaby. I then take the next train and continue towards my journey.

This is not the only time I've faced that. When I was on the 98 B-line to Richmond, as the bus suddenly got off the Airport Station, he realized that the lift bridge wasn't moving at all even though that the gates are down. Some people simply walked over the bridge to their next destination, while others take the other B-lines that they were diverting from that congested area. From what I recall, the bus was severely packed to the max!!!

These are the things I had recalled in my memory......

LOL! That guy MADE MY DAY !!!

Honestly people, this guy comes on the bus, sits right between Kyle and I , and lets a HUGE FART rip, and is tellin us how lucky we were to have been in Hamilton and heard his fart, Then he pulls out his Girls Gone Wild DVD and some other pornos, Then when Kyle and I Were laughing at him so hard, He walks away and goes to sit down and he SMASHED his head on the mirror ! All you hear is DO'H!!! then Kyle and I laughed even harder.

Fun Times on HSR 0714 on the Barton Line !!

Later that day some guy asked me for money, so I Kindly told him Kyle had money, After Kyle bought him something to eat, I Saw this guy give some chick $10 bill ! LOL

I saw Zanta doing push-ups on the train and yelling "Merry Christmas - yes, yes, yes!". Then I got off at Bathurst Stn to take the next train. 10 minutes later when we got to Keele Stn, he was yelling "Merry Christmas - yes, yes, yes!". LOL everybody in the train were looking around. This was Saturday on VIVA Blue. It was one of the last buses to leave Finch Station.

There was this drunk girl, a teenager, and she kept saying how she was "so hot" and she wanted to take her cloths off. She was REALLY drunk, face was red like a tomato. She was with her friends and she was climbing all over the seats. omg

She got a lot of lookers...these guys kept looking back.

She eventually did. o_o lol

The most shocking thing I've seen, I was riding home on one of the last 61 Sooke runs of the night a few years ago when I was still living on the island. A very, very drunk woman in her late 20's stumbles on at the Glen Lake Hotel in Langford and sits down across from me(behind the rear doors on a D40LF). It's late and I'm sort of dozing off when I hear the sound of what I thought was water pouring on the floor. Looking over I see this woman sitting there, pants almost around her ankles pissing all over the floor. The whole bus wreaked of urine the rest of the way, the smell was so bad I was starting to get sick by the time I got to my stop.

To be honest...no. I'm so scared of being around extremely drunk people.

I kept worrying whether she'd puke or not. Because I was sitting in the row in front of hers.

Once we got to Richmond Hill Centre, I DARTED off lol.

Once a lady got on Dennis's bus and she had only a blouse and one shoe on. Dennis didn't ask to see her pass because she had no pockets ;)

I once witnessed a senior man littering on the floor of a bus. I didn't know whether I should say anything as it was quite an odd sight.

A brand new (like fresh out of training) driver drove up on the curb today, on what was likely his first day of work! ;)
