2044 Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 The BYD page was recently changed to RIDE Mobility, but I don't think that is the correct move because the page lists more products that are not North American and therefore not branded a RIDE. I think the page should remain as BYD Auto with a section for RIDE or have RIDE as a separate page.

At a very minimum, we need a main BYD page, and if deemed necessary a separate/new RIDE Mobility page can be created to reflect the North American models (which will get linked back to existing BYD model pages). Doing a quick bit of research, the buses for the North American marketplace are still generally the same models as previously and are internationally available, and they are being marketed under both the BYD and RIDE brands. The Wiki has branches beyond just North America, so we need to reflect the global context as well. 1
MiExpress Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 On official correspondence BYD/RIDE uses "BYD Coach & Bus LLC, d/b/a RIDE Coach & Bus" so given BYD appears to be the legal name still, I agree with maintaining the page as BYD. Perhaps a preamble or blurb on the page noting the company is branding or doing business as (dba) RIDE in North America would be sufficient. As an example, pages 96-99 from this agenda packet: https://www.linktransit.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/October-Board-Packet4.pdf 2
