viridiem Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Hi all, I've noticed quite a few issues with the Edmonton route pages on the wiki, namely that they haven't been updated since April 2021. I'm not a huge forum poster, so I'm not someone who will meet the traditional qualifications for getting editing perms on the wiki. I am, however, a huge fan of structured data and have work experience doing technical writing and training material creation. I figured I'd just make a spam thread of historical changes to the individual routes since the April 2021 Bus Network Redesign updates to the site. If that's not allowed, or if I should make a thread somewhere else, please let me know. First Thing: I noticed on the Wiki that the links for the Route PDFs on the edmonton.ca website need updating, as it looks like the storage structure has changed on the site. The current links are formatted as: https://www.edmonton.ca/transportation/PDF/BNRMap_Route114.pdf The new formatting is: https://webdocs.edmonton.ca/transit/route_schedules_and_maps/sc1/RT114.pdf Resources: Wayback Machine captures of the https://www.edmonton.ca/ets/service-changes page - however the only archive only goes back as the July 2022 service change Reports that have gone to council about bus network changes (ex. CO02242 "Bus Network Service Plan" from March 19, 2024 Urban Planning Committee meeting), Annual Service Plans (2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, with 2024-2025 due to be uploaded this week) I will also try and find a reliable way to locate historical route brochures, mainly since the bus network redesign, but I would be interested in a reliable source for the older brochures as well I will try and find a source for the entire network maps published with the updates

And yes, this is absolutely the correct spot for this thread! Creating the ETS route pages was a COVID-era project for me, something to keep occupied while we were all still socially isolating. Those pages were largely created in 2021, shortly after the redesigned route network was put into effect. Unfortunately it seems like we do not have enough editors who live in/around Edmonton who are able to keep those pages updated, so those newly-created pages went stale, and unfortunately I don't live in (or near) Edmonton so it's not really possible for me to stay on top of them as often as one would like. The ETS route pages should now all be updated with new maps, revised webpage links, current routings, etc. Where possible I added info to the History section where routings changed, but many of the dates are "Unknown" as I do not have the time to dig through Wayback Machine. It was already a 3+ week project to update the content to where it is now, it would be minimum another week or two to comb through the historical info, but if any other users are able to contribute any service change info in this thread it would be a big help.

Unfortunately, I only just saw this original post because I saw the reply. I believe they are: sc1= February sc2= April sc3= June/July sc4=September sc5= November. Right now sc2 does have the April 25, 2025 schedules, despite ETS saying they aren't available on the internet yet. Before they went to this sc scheme they used a simpler scheme and made them easily accessible in advance of a schedule change. For older brochures try the address: www.gov.edmonton.ab.ca/transit On 3/5/2025 at 11:41 PM, viridiem said: Resources: Wayback Machine captures of the https://www.edmonton.ca/ets/service-changes page - however the only archive only goes back as the July 2022 service change Past news releases may be useful, since all service changes get a news release. https://data.edmonton.ca/City-Administration/Media-Releases/r9z6-7mh8/about_data Ditto for memos to councilors: https://data.edmonton.ca/City-Administration/Memos-to-Council/kyni-rzw4/about_data On 3/5/2025 at 11:41 PM, viridiem said: Reports that have gone to council about bus network changes (ex.
